Got an email yesterday from Adventurersworkshop.com stating that all of their in stock Kaoko throttle controls are on sale for 20% off. I emailed them to verify the Ulysses model was in stock...and they are. Even though it is still more expensive then the ole rubber band wedged next to the throttle side grip...the discount combined with free shipping makes this a pretty good deal for one of the best accessories I've ever purchased for my Uly.

The email says to place the order at the normal price online and a revised invoice will be sent after the order has been processed...or you could just call them on the phone.

Check out the one I just bought for my BMW.

$20.00. I put it on today and it looks like it will work nice.

Thanks!!!

Where do you see the 20% discount? The $150 listed is normal price. (I think)

It doesn't show up...they will discount it after you place the order. I would call or email them to verify that their inventory reduction sale is still active. Mine shipped a couple days ago...20% off with free shipping.

Towpro, I like that. $20 is easier to swallow than 150. what size did you get? Did you order it from that link?

yes I bought it from that link. I bought the smaller one for my BMW. I think the Buell are the same size grips. I have not ridden it yet (way too much salt on the roads), but it seems to work great on the stand.

Push this lever all the way on the inside of the grip. it just opens up and you put it over the grip. Turn the throttle where you want it, then use your big finger to push the lever down until it hits the brake lever. To return the throttle just twist it back and this lever slides on the grip.
I think I ordered it on Thursday (from California) and it came in the mail on Saturday (to PA).

I have not tried it live yet, but the reviews on the site where I saw it are all positive.

I had a Vista-Cruise cruise control on an old Yamaha that worked very well. Has anyne tried one of these on their Uly?

Clang,

Many have, and they work great for them. I use a $1.00 giant "O", that works great for me. I didn't even have to pay for it, but even if I did greatest $1.00 farkle ever.

I just bought the one Towpro posted. The others Vista koako look much nicer, but I'm broke and 20 I could do. I won't use it except on long straight trips anyway.

Thanks Towpro! I bought the one you recommended, have put 200 miles on the bike with it, and love it. It is great. I read many good reviews but the one that convinced me to give it a try was from a guy who had a Kaoko but wasn't sure he'd ever use it again after using the 2wheelride lock. It works great. The small one is the one for Uly's. Thanks.

Clang,
I have a vista cruise on my Uly and it works just fine. The only problem is that it takes up a little bit of hand space.
I just ordered 2 of the ones Towpro posted (1 for my firebolt, one for the warden's scg) so when the roads finally clear up and I get to try it out I may want rid of the vista cruise.
They look so simple I can't believe one of us didn't come up with it long ago!

If your hands are big, the twowheelride device is a fit problem. The Ulysses uses short grips and my gloved hands take up the full width. Bar-end style (or the big-O-ring) are the only ones that will work for me.

I had two problems with the O-ring, slipping in the rain and (more annoyance than issue) not being able to turn it "off" while riding.

That's a good point, Marl_weiss, and one I was concerned with before I tested the 2wheelride lock. I first used it with my old style Gerbing heated gloves, which are pretty bulky, and then with my Cycleport Racing Gloves. I use XL or XXL gloves and it was good for me but we are all different. You might want to try one. They are pretty thin. By the way, I don't use my grip hand fore finger to set the lock. I found that reaching over with my left hand works more precisely. Good luck.

Does anyone know if it will work with the traction hand grips.

I've been making my own version of the 2wr piece for the past few years using an old coat hanger and some heat shrink tubing. Works like a champ.
