+1 XB9 primary. It just feels right! In heavy traffic it becomes a point a shoot yet it's only 400 rpm different cruising at 70. Makes city riding much better. Oh, and then there's that wheelie thing...

Yay! Charging now happens. 14.15v at idle, peaks at 14.35 at 3k rpm. Lots of amps (my meter can only handle 10a).

Now to see if I can figure out what went wrong. Did the VR fail and kill the stator or was it the other way 'round?

From what I've read, if one fails they all will fail. It's the holy trinity, battery, VR, Stator, change all three.

I took mine off and put it back on with an impact wrench, no issues at all, you just have to be carefull.

The four torx bolts that hold the stator on suck. The recess is too shallow and small to get any torque on them, I slotted mine with an angle grinder and used a screwdriver, made it a lot easier.

I did not have any issues with the stator screws. Maybe it was because my T-20 bit was practically brand new and still had sharp edges.
