Hope it's a great run. I'd ask where you were going, but you'll be back before you can post it!

So, how'd it work out? You must have recovered by now.

1,050 miles, 19 hours, 57 minutes, 15 stops, 13 for time/location receipts/gas, 1 for lunch and 1 for a wreck on Alligator Alley.

Got up Saturday and had to get back in the saddle to ride out the stiffness. Missed my cruise control (throttle lock) but otherwise it was a great run.

Bravo! That's some great time you've posted! I hope the wreck was someone else? Not that I'm wishing bad on anybody. Got any pictures of that award winning ride?

It was more of a BBQ than a wreck. The smoke was from a car that had caught fire and was just torched. Thankfully it did not appear as though anyone was hurt.

Between dodging the cages and making sure we had timed/dated location gas receipts, I didn't think much about my camera. I did snap a couple pics of our poor neighbor we woke up at 3:30 AM to sign the departure/witness paper. I took one pic at a gas pump but honestly have no clue where it was at or the time I took it. Also snapped a couple pics of the cars stopped along Alligator Alley and the sunset was beautiful there. I posted them on my web page.

All in all, I've always wanted to do an IBA on the Blast and accomplished what I set out to do. Would I do it again? Riding is an addiction I make no secret of. I'd like to do another, but not the same one. IBA's almost always require just getting on a highway and buzzing along, I prefer the two-lane back road thing. Right now my focus will switch to my summer journey.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Now back to the daily grind...

Yea! I have done one on my Electra Glide. I would like to try one out on the STT. I'm guessing a lot of gas stops. I haven't really take any trips on it yet, so I will have to start there.

15 stops in 1000 miles and you still averaged over 52 miles an hour. That is pretty amazing. Those must have been some short stops. I did my Iron Butt in about the same time with about half the stops.

We stopped about every 100 miles for gas - with average 80 MPH on highway with the winds I did not get the gas mileage I'm used to. I can usually go 140'ish before I have to gas up.

Yep, quick stops - just long enough to get gas, have a quick drink, every other stop I checked my oil and off we went. Lunch was just about 30 minutes and dinner was a bag of chips with about a 15 minute break.

And the 30 min delay on Alligator Alley. Friday night back in the Sarasota area traffic became a little issue and we slowed up a bit to around 70 MPH.

It was a great challenge and one I'm glad I did.

The summer trip north will be much more of a leisure trip!
