yeah thats all America needs, another 26000 pound truck on the road. I can see it now, woman drives off the road kills 14 people after running them over at 85mph while talking on her cell phone doing her makeup and the television blaring in the background. and Jeremy this is any worse than the kid driving a R1/ZX/CBR/GSXR at 170 mph ? I think it's pretty cool. 100k is way out of my budget though. For those who tow large campers this looks like the ticket, perfect for towing a 40ft 5th wheel. | ||

yeah it is a lot different than a kid riding all them jap bikes, the bikes don't weigh 26k and aren't the size of a semi so if some dipshitt wants to kill himself on an r1 then great one less idiot on a bike. Yeah a kid could probably still kill another person on their bike but at least they wouldn't take out the 15 cars in front of it and then turn into a raging fireball. | ||

a bit dramatic dude. that's 26k loaded, i doubt miss distracted will be carrying the equivalent of 4 yds of gravel with her all the time. it's more like 12k. and 600lb of rider and bike at 170 mph is a heck of a lot of kinetic energy. how come 80000 lb trucks don't often "take out" 15 cars when they lose control but a 12000 lb suv will ? | ||

Because the guy driving the 80K# truck known how to drive. The guy in the 80K# truck generally does the speed limit. The guy in the 80K# truck won't be weaving in and out of traffic. Most drivers just panic and lock the brakes (or try to) in a bad situation. A WHOLE LOT more damage will occur when one of these wrecks compared to a bike at just about ANY speed. I'm not saying they shouldn't sell them... That would be akin to trying to sue gun manufacturers for murders. I'm just saying that these WILL fall into the wrong hands  . | ||

I don't know about guys in trucks doing the speed limit, they certainly don't in CT, NY and NJ, a truck driver trying to get home on Friday night on I-84 W is a lot scarier to me than a soccer mom in an Escalade | ||

Boys I am a Truck Driver, & I've been doing it for 20odd years, the same rules apply to ANY vehicle, if you don't know how to drive it properly it's just a dangerous piece of scrap metal! Any tool in the wrong hands can be a lethal weapon. Also please remember truckers don't have the all round vision that you do, so if you can't see his mirrors, he can't see you! Most (I won't say all) truckers are responsible experienced people with families that they want to get home to in one piece, and most have been trained to drive large vehicles & want to avoid trouble whenever possible if only to prevent delay & unnecessary paperwork. I don't know what the driver licensing rules are going to be for this new toy but it ought to need a truck license at that size, In Europe it would have to be plated as a medium goods vehicle & be limited electronically to 70 mph. ( mind you if I registered it in Switzerland, hmm.....) | ||

Loki is exactly right. A great deal of retirees come to Yuma to over winter and I see many of these rigs already. The company saw people customizing like this already, recognized the need, and produced the product. Good on them. P.S. Jeremy, my Ford gets 7 MPG  | ||

Your all right, for a daily driver it is crazy. Now for someone like me that hauls a lot of stuff, pushes snow in the winter and uses a truck for its purpose of work, then it could be a great tool. Especially since i have been looking into the Ford F-550 line. But alas the new international is WAY out of my price league. | ||

Hallelujah! If I see one more S10 or Ranger lowered with the bed permanently closed I'm gonna shoot somebody. Incidentally, my truck has left the garage 4 times in the last two weeks. Three trips to the dump with 4000+ lbs of (de)construction refuse and once with 5 friends to go to dinner. Trucks are meant to HAUL ••••. If you've got really BIG •••• then you need a really BIG truck. | ||

charlie my dad's 95' f250 power stroke got almost 22 mpg hauling 25 foot 5th wheels all over the country, also half his bed was a giant fuel cell. Something is definatly wrong with your truck if thats all you get. we put over 600k on his truck before he got rid of it and it was still pulling 20 mpg on long hauls. | ||

Diesel, meet Gasoline. Gasoline, meet Diesel. A big V8 or V10 gas engine might be lucky to get 10mpg round the city or hauling something. A diesel probably couldn't use that much if you didn't use two gears! LOL Completely different animals in the MPG department. I'd have loved to get the Cummins in my Ram, but it wasn't an option that year in the new body style. Ahh, well...next full size truck will definitely be a diesel. | ||

Sorry, nothing wrong here. A 1975 carburated 390 cid will get no better. Especially with the Edelbrock 4 barrel running wide open much of the time, I like to run the beach. And I agree with you all, trucks are meant to work, hunt, and haul. Mine does all three. 7 MPG is exactly why I ride the Buell to work... | ||

The Endurance 5.6 V8 from Nissan averaged 22mpg freeway with the tailgate down. Towing a 6x10 enclosed trailer with 2 bikes and a crap load of tools/parts from Phoenix to San Diego it averaged 18mpg and on the return trip (long uphill out of San Diego) it averaged 16mpg with an average speed of 65 in Cali and 75 in AZ both ways. Not sure what Nissan did but it got better milage in my Titan then I did when I just had the V6 Frontier. | ||

Nissan put in an engine that was man enough for the job it had to do & therefore was able to run more economically than a smaller engine working harder. sounds odd but it works. |
