The Objective Individual Combat Weapon does have a unique grenade launcher. It has 3 grenade settings. Air burst, contact, and delayed contact. The delayed setting would let you fire it through a window and then detonate.

(not that I'm a total gun nut, I do keep an eye out for companies to invest in that are poised to win big-honkin' government contracts, Like Lockheed Martin did with the Joint Strike Fighter)

On the M249(saw) it will take a M16a2 mag if the springs are doubled up. The SAW with a 200 round drum weighs in a 22 pounds +/-. I carried one over in the "box" for 1 year.
FireBolt stay safe and you will be home before you know it.

I know that 240 inside and out, cleaned that thing a jillion times during the offensive, damned sand. (okay, i didnt clean it that much, but my team did) the 240 is a great weapon.

i also saw an M1 hit by an rpg, and a couple AAVs hit by rpgs. M1 was fine, AAVs, thats a bad story, rest in peace brothers. we armored our 1123 (soft back Humvee) with a boat load of sand bags and steel plates we, um, borrowed from where ever we could. we also managed to mount an M2 on the top of the 1123, a feat i think was previously un-attempted. no one thought it would fire from up there and stay put, but it did.

if you think 70 is scary on the autobahn, try going closer to 80 at night with NVGs on into 3 lanes of oncoming AAVs doing 60 themselves. the team behind me brushed a guardrail and one of the packs on the side of the AAV at the same time. or weaving through a staggered column of LAR doing nearly three times their speed responding to a firefight. or doing closer to 50 down a levy with a 20 foot drop on both sides at night, or negotiating the unfinished MSR during THE sandstorm. think gravel freeway with 15 foot drops to culverts with no warnings.

Donald, thanks a ton for being over there, from someone who knows what you are going through. hang tough bro, you guys are doing awesome over there, people here are behind you 100 percent, no matter what the media portrays.

Don, you keep your head down and get home so you can enjoy that bike, family and friends.

Sharing the images of your tour here triggered some good memories for me.

Thank you.

If you see one of those journalists/cameramen skulking behind the rag headed guys with RPGs and AK47's, you have my blessing to take him out too. In fact I encourage it.

Don:

Your 2005 Buell info pack headed out yesterday. I'll send some more stuff to keep you busy and your friends jealous.

Keep the head down, alert and eyes open. You have my permission to steal any sandbag from anywhere to armor your vehicle.

Everyone will be ready to welcome you back to the land of twisty roads and twisted Buells.

thanks court

on the sand bag topic we were pullin them off the trucks cuz all the weight was blowing out the tires (its hard to get a hummer tire in iraq) that and they really slow the trucks down we usually go about 60, 65 when going on sertin convoys and with all the weight from the sand bags those already slow trucks just aint got no getup and go (kinda like a 300 pound guy on a blast not a good combo for going fast) but now we have armored doors and windshild (yet still have soft tops)
