Vmax with aftermarket pipes

RZ350 with Spec II expansion chambers

any Shovel, Pan, or Knuckle

and of course, my XB9SX!

I'm real curious to hear the new R1 Crossplane motor. The Tuning Forks folks do a pretty good job of making music... ; )

Nine thousand plus miles since I bought her in '07 and my stock XB9R still makes me smile every time she is on full boil.

Oh yeah- once upon a time a good buddy had a 78 Yamaha XS750 triple with a Kerker header. SWEEETT!

It was kind of a beater, but he pissed off all the posers one evening at Hooters by doing a proper burnout, after all the meats and squids had tried and failed.

Once heard my old Suzuki parts guy take off on an XN85. Listening to that turbo spool up gave me wood. I wished SO HARD that I could've bought that bike at the time (I was a teen with no means). Of course some meat bought it and wadded it within a month. Saw an ad for one of these in the current Walneck's and they were asking $30K.

Waahhh!!

Ahh.. the best sounding bike I've ever heard is this thing, gearing down to go into a tight hairpin early in the morning on Highway 1. I miss her

Bosh,

I agree. Had an '02 Viffer with Staintune exhaust system and baffles removed. I rarely got to hear it from anyplace but the cockpit or reverberating off a canyon wall but Ferris Bueller tells me it sounded awesome... right before we got our matching federal speeding tickets. : )

"One that comes to mind was a Honda CBX with the full boogie RC Engineering motor kit and an open 6 into 1 header.."

Knew a guy who had a CBX and ran an open 6 into 1 on it. Hard to beat that soundwise.

As annoying as I find it at certain times, loud Harleys sound great. A well tuned Ironhead Sportster with shotgun duals makes a beautiful sound.

The same goes for loud I4 sport bikes.

When it's my bike?

I love it!

When it's other people?

It bugs the living S**t out of me!

I had never heard my bike go by before. Had some suspension stuff done and when the mechanic blew by to test ride it I couldn't believe how cool it sounded.

The Drummer sounds great and then when he got on it you could hear the FAST intake just roar. I never heard anything but a stock Buell exhaust XB go by before other than while riding, but it sounded a lot meaner than I would have thought.

I love the sound of a Vrod with an aftermarket exhaust too. There is a bike I hear in Tacoma that sounds fantastic. I don't know what the Hell it is. I run outside when I recognize the sound but I haven't seen it yet. ?

+1 Prof_stack on the Ducati.

Something about the sound of a dry clutch chattering.

Love the maintenance schedule of my Buell more though : ).

that's easy! The Harley-Davidson XR750!!! the best sounding motorcycle ever built. I use to watch them at the Peoria TT races. Jay Springsteen #9 on his factory Harley XR750.

Also Bubba Blackwell uses a XR750 when he does his jumps. Another sweet sounding machine.

I've always loved the cadence of a shovelhead at idle. Twice I've stopped dead in my tracks to hear what was coming, and it turned out to be a Ducati. Riding a stock ST3 didn't do it for me, though.

I'm just the opposite, I dislike the dry clutch rattle.

Once again a little biased, but to me, nothing beats the sound of Lemonchili's X1, and for so many reasons. It is so distinct, I can hear him coming home four blocks away. It stirs my blood when it fires up. Everyone looks up as you go by, but nobody really knows what just passed them!
I guess not everyone gets to hear their own bikes being ridden past that often, but he's getting used to it! Lol!

Cowboy I'm with you there is nothing quite like a flathead Ford, just sounds cool.

My list for bikes are all with aftermarket exhaust:

SV650
Superhawk
TLR
V-Rod
XB's
09 R1
Duc's (never heard the v4)

The thing about an exhaust that ruins it for me is when exhaust pops when decelerating, I hate that.

I hope one day to be able to see and hear an Aerial Square Four in person one day.

I do not know if anyone here has ever experienced it, maybe Fireman Jim or a few salt racers but the sound of a big block Harley, on fuel(nitro), at full tilt coming across the three mile marker at Bonneville is just awesome. Bob in Utah.

Bob I agree and you can get almost that same sound if you go to the big end of a dragstrip when the nitro Harleys are running. It is well worth the walk to the other end of the track.
