Jeesh, first you buy the same fog lights as me... now this! My pics from 2 months ago: I love the thing! Looks great, and it's the perfect size! If I may make a recommendation, install it on the 'down' side of your bike, when it's on the kickstand. That way when you open the drain, it pukes out straight onto the ground. Mine's on the 'up' side, and I have to have a rag under it to catch the crap. I've found that with smaller roads, like around town, or out in the twisty's I get lots of white milky crap (moisture), but out on the open highway I get more oil lookin stuff. I had it fill up on me once, it was right at the end of a 2 day 1100 mile loop of open highway. I try to drain it at the end of every day of riding. You have an XB, so you shouldn't have NEAR the amount of pukage that I get with the old style rocker boxes. |

Mike... the XB rocker covers and PCV valves didn't make much of difference in spooge production on my M2. What did make a huge difference was running the oil level much lower in the oil bag (to the very tip of the dipstick). I also use the longer Dyna filter to maintain oil capacity (it adds about a 1/2 quart). Doing these two things reduced spooge to a point where 90% of what comes out of my catch-can is clear water. I empty it after about 4 tanks of gas, or every time I wash the bike. Oil consumption also dropped to a point where I only had add a few ounces in the last 1500 miles this summer. I think whats happening is the oil gets aerated by the scavenging pump and rises to a level in the oil bag where it overflows back into the cam-case and is vented out through the breathers... ...that's a pure hypothesis though. If you try this, be extra watchful on the oil level as you ride. You don't want it to go too low for obvious reasons. |

Looks great. If I were you though, I'd flip the elbows coming out of the heads so they point down, rather than up. The way the internal passage in the head is, once oil gets in there, it will never drain back down into the head, so by routing the hose UP, and not DOWN, you've created a low spot where oil/water will collect instead of running into the catch can. Basically, the hoses should run downhill to the can. Jeff |

Hmmm, interesting! I didn't move them, they were pointing up from the factory. |
