I just put together my 98 s3 today, after two years of intending to do it.

The custom paint took longer than I expected.

I installed a forcewinder and also a bracket that allows me to get rid of the breather hoses and use the bracket from d and m motorcycle.

While starting my bike today, the oil plug under the seat flew out, and hot oil went everywhere.

I am just wondering what could cause pressure like that in the oil tank.

I took the seat off, and tried to run it again with the same results. I am at a loss, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

You over filled it most likely. The Buell is a dry sump, meaning the oil lives under the seat, not in the bottom of the engine.

So if you check the oil cold, all the oil thats in the engine won't show in the oil level under the seat. Once the beast is running it will pump the oil from the engine back to the reservoir under seat and then you get the problem you 're seeing.

So remember that you can't check the oil unless the bike has been running for awhile. You need to ride it a couple miles for an accurate reading.

Thanks Mbsween, I also have a question about changing to the forcewinder.

I had the carbon fiber race hamcan on before, and It ran great, but I kept jamming my knee on it.

So I changed the breather to the forcewinder, and it fixed the leg room issue, but now it pops and backfires.

I have a new carb jet kit, should I increase the jet size or decrease it to stop this problem?

Carve out you vacuum air intake - you are developing a false lean condition because of it

the force is dependent on active intake for optimal performance.
the difference between standing still and moving forward is greatly accentuated with this intake, which means your mixture will vary as a result.
put it on ebay and put a nice, intelligent k&n airbox on it, for consistent airflow.

Don't ever run the bike w/out the seat on. That way the cap will never fly off! It did happen to me once too.
