Ok it seems that Michigan isn't a favorable Buell Dealer state. I had a fair amount of dealers around my house that sold Buells. But now i am down to 1 that is under 20 minutes away then i have 2 that are 45 minutes away and 2 that are well over 1.5 hours away.... I had one that was 10 miles from me Shiawasse HD, and then blam-o gone no more buells. Then I go to ABC HD in waterford, to get my new front Isolotor and they inform me that they won't be receiving the new 2006 Buells cause they are getting out of the Buell Buisness.. Kind of bumms me out... ya know.. but if they didn't wish to sell em, then i guess it is for the best. DAVE MOVE TO MICHIGAN!!

That is HORRIFIC news. My brother lives right down from the Waterford HD/Buell(EX) dealer. Granted I never stopped there in all the times I went to MI but still, it was there.

How small is the Buell network getting now?????

Well i think it is good that they won't be selling Buells cause they were very anti buell anyways.. but it still buggs me...

Jeez, how many dealers did you used to have around you?
No wonder none of them could make any money doing it.

How small is the Buell network getting you ask?
Almost the right size now.
Having 6 or 8 Buell dealers in any metro area just makes no sense.

Daves,

I ask for only as many dealers as there are for say... the Japanese brand.

It is ashame that HD dealers can't at least sell Buell parts... because I don't need to have my bike serviced there.

too many dealers?

Tell that to the drugstores. gezus, there's a new Wallgreens opening across the street from the new CVS.

Yet I can't try on a pair of Sidi track boots or buy a back protector within 150 miles, maybe more.

what, a non Buell dealer can't sell you parts? news to me.

granted... it seems like they are close.. but i live in Rural Michigan, and i like to Whine.. lol

but the one that was closest wasn't even worht the trip cause they acted like they were forced to sell buells.. and they also sell Arctic Cat/ and John Deere Stuff... which is odd

and to think Detroit had such a plethera of choices.....

MotorCity, was the place to go.

Detroit, was not. Even though they had a mech with a 97 M2

Wolverine, got into it way to late. Nice place to go and gawk though. You gotta like the counter weight for the elevator though.

Port Huron, nice place to chill and talk shop. Also reasonable deals on stuff.

Troy, a poser emporium and all the Buell stuff was squashed together and hard to get to.

Ann Arbor, nice ride to get to it. Only stopped in a couple times and that was before I knew who Spidey was.

Did most of my biz with Motorcity. Besides I liked rippin the tunnels on 696. The reverb was awesome.
Still gots my Motorcity Brag card, #039

We lost our Buell dealer in Gaylord, Michigan in July. Their service guys are top-notch, too. I felt completely confident when I left my bike there. Now I have to drive 70 miles one-way to a HD/Buell dealer. However, I'm not comfortable with their service department, at all. So, with things I can't do myself, I'll just have the dealer in Gaylord service. It's not under warranty any longer anyway. It will be all parts from Dave, with me and Gaylord HD for service.

Anyone use the dealer in Ann Arbor for service?

SUCK IT UP PRINCESS

At least you don't have to drive 1600km (1000mi) and an 8hr boat ride to get to your nearest Buell Retailer.

Fred Deeley Imports - How about just ONE retailer for Newfoundland!!!!!!!

Well, maybe that will happen when Buell starts selling as many bikes as the Japanese dealers.

Living in Milwaukee WI, I am rather spoiled that we do have many Buell dealers here. Even though I live 5 miles from Hals HD/Buell, I drove to Iowa to buy my bike and drive 100 miles north to Appleton to have it tuned. twice the amount of service for half the cost! All you need is one good dealer, trust me! Quality, not Quantity.

P.S. the local used bike sales and service store is pretty popular among local Buell and Harley riders also. Might be something to check out in your nieghborhood.

DBird,
If your referring to your dealer 5 miles away and that is the South Valley in Sandie UT....

Well I'd say you are one of the luckiest people I know!! That is a first rate dealer!! Tim in service and Pete their Buell tech are World Class IMO.

Thanks for your assistance on my Portland OR Trip last June!!

Jeff

Thunder,
Glad you got hooked up with Pete for service on your bike. He sure looks like a HD tech huh?
Great guy!
Hope your trip was uneventful after your throttle body went out.
