Hey there BadWeBers. Thanks for the acceptance

I don't own a buell. But I have a 95' sporty 1200. I know the cyclones/ thunderbolts share similar motors besides the obvious improvements . I was wondering if anyone had some insight and suggestions on a couple easy things I could do to my Evo motor to give it more giddy up and utilize its full potential. Thanks in advance people

Howdy!

While Tube frame Buells use the same motor as a base and there is lots of interchange, the bikes are severely different on the exhaust side. No to mention the way they're ridden being completely different. Buells really are sportbikes and are set up differently than a bike being used as a cruiser.

I'm not trying to push you away, but I know that you'll find more useful information on a Sportster board. Sportsters of that vintage have been done to death so there is tons of information out there that will be more to the point of your bike.

Feel free to hang out (maybe you'll be sucked into buying a Buell : ) ).

Gimme a break, Ralph, or I'll have to ride the old green beast down and spank yer ass!

Mudd, it depends on what you mean by easy things. Jetting richer than stock is easy and presumably already done. Dump the stock exhaust, of course. (My preference is the two into one Vance and Hines.) Clip-ons and re-sets, butyou were asking about motor stuff.
Up-graded heads (Thunderstorm or XB) (with pistons to match, of course) is easy for some. What's your budget/goals?

X1 cams with thunderstorm heads would get you in the 80Hp ballpark.
I think x1 cams are roughly the same as screamin chickens
It may be easier to have your stock heads reworked though.

Cams cost some bucks but would really change the character of your beast.

Contact NRHS about a 1250 kit and having them polish your heads to stage two. With a better exhaust and cams, this can make you faster than any stock Big Twin Harley.
