I've been reading the archives on polishing swingarms, so I am looking for a spare. Is a 2000 M2 swingarm a direct replacement for a 99 X1?

Thanks in advance.

All the tuber swingarms are interchangeable

'99-'02 Buells use the same aluminum swing arm, '95-'98 Buells use the same steel swing arm. The steel and aluminum swing arms are interchangeable but you have the use the corresponding swing arm mount as they are not directly interchangeable between the steel and aluminum swing arms without modification.

Thank you both, that's what I needed to know.

I will argue one thing the pivot blocks may be interchangeable. I put a 2000 Alum swingarm on my 96 and used the 96 pivot block with no modifacation and it worked fine

Interesting. That may be the case or t may be a one-way case. I was told that one way doesn't fit. I could be wrong though.

They are different castings that's for sure, not sure about what will happen but I think it may have to do with the later mount has a stop on it. To me it looks as if the shock breaks it won't bottom out on the under side???

Swingarm mount blocks are interchangeable. In 1999 it went from a 47594-94Y to a -94YA (retrofittable) version.

I think that putting an aluminum swingarm on an S2 requires some "clearancing" due to the S2 sideplates - but I can't remember where.
