Dam i was moving some stuff around and had left this stupid tarp out on the ground kinda lumped up, And it was where i park my bike. So i pulled my bike in from riding home from work. And got just a little tarp under front tire, As i hit the brakes on the front the bike slid on the tarp forward like 1 foot and the header got the tarp!! Damn now its stuck all over the header, So scraped off what i could with a razor knife but it looks bad and any suggestions!!! | ||

Factory header? Sounds liek a great time to polish that thing. Steel wool will clean it up... BUT, kinda rough on that gold finish..\ Chase | ||

My dad had some of his rain suit stuck on the pipes on his harley. He ran the bike and then used brasso. It seemed to work well. | ||

Yes stock, But im going to get the d and d system. So no polishing of the stock will be done, I will re-sell it on badweb this winter. Brasso huh! I have heard of the steel wool, Some guy said it will yellow back up after a while, But im not sure about that. | ||

use easy off oven cleaner. warm up the exhaustWARM NOT HOT! spray on burnt on crap. be care not to get it on anything you want to look the same (paint and polished surface)wait a few minutes and wipe off, may take a few times but it works. This is an old Harley trick to get burnt plastic bags and stuff off your exhaust. | ||

Yes, it will yellow back up. That's caused by the steel being heated. Let the plastic from the tarp char from the heat then scrape and chip off with a razor blade. I use an abrasive nylon filament wheel brush to clean up problems like that after scraping. | ||

I do it all the time . . . ride the motorcycle. This is the God's way of challenging you to ride more to constantly keep the crud burned off your pipes. I used to do it, in the S1 era, with my Aerostiches. . . now it's bike covers. No biggie. | ||

Ok got it off using the cook it and scrape it off method. Now on to the removal of the light scratches the razor blade made. | ||

Nice i use it on both my 1974 imperial lebaron s they have so much chrome. So far the stuff that is still there turned ash white and flaked off so i think im good now | ||
