If you unleash an ODA or SEAL team to just start merc'ing fighters in the street, the local (and US) media will show the evil, racist American government slaying poor innocent protestors. I don't mean defended the Embassy. I mean punishing Iran for yet another violation of international law. No big hurry, & I hope it's Epic. As far as defending the Embassy goes? The end of season 1 of Spartacus, Blood and Sand has rivers of blood, quite dramatic.  I've long been a proponent of exploiting the lie that "the captured terrorist isn't really a Muslim. His actions don't reflect on us." by violating Islamic Customs in their disposal. No, I'm not being petty. It's a proven tactic dating back centuries. We used it in the Philippines, during the Moro uprising, spreading the rumor we dipped our bullets in pig blood. ( we did not ) Faced with eternal damnation, it reduced attacks. It would work today, if we cared nothing about idiot's opinions. Complaints that they were proper Muslims would prove the denials were lies. And we don't have to actually do it. Just leak that we do. The New York Times can be exploited too. Just tell a traitor. | ||

Also - as for outing the rats (too many to out, IMHO) - what's it called? The strategy where you leak different, conflicting bits of information to all of your suspects, and see which bit of info makes it out? Like, you tell the Army General, "we're going to take Iwo Jima". you tell the Navy, "we're going to Leyte Gulf", tell the marines, "We're raiding the halls of Montezuma", and so on. Then you monitor your enemies to see who starts digging in and increasing military presence. I'm surprised Trump hasn't done something of this sort. | ||

for the bullets in pig's blood thing - 5 or 6 years ago, if you googled "bullets in pigs blood", you had several historical articles about what happened. I also recall Cook's Uprising having similar results. I know this because I first heard about it, and googled it, while "W" was in office. Back when I worked at the local HD dealership. A fellow tech told me about it. Now, the only things you can find, is "Trump resurrects lies about General Pershing" and the like. Edit. It's funny that history is history, up until a certain point, when a new version of the story comes out of nowhere, and then the MSM, and university professors, and fact checkers with agendas, suddenly embrace this new version of the story as though that's all they'd ever known.
