Idler sprocket bearing failed - bushing is seized into the bearing, sprocket is now cracked. Called LAP, no parts left in the EBR stock. Question is this: Is this idler sprocket really necessary? Talking to other racers - seems everyone used this sprocket set up.

Yes it is necessary.

Has anyone validated this? If so, where do I get a replacement?

Contact Twin Motorcycles for chain tensioner replacement alternatives. I use Free Spirit chain tensioner but it looks like they do not sell it anymore.

If I would not be able to find the part I would design my own and ordered the part in machine chop.
