To all who are interested - there is a benefit ride to the MDA Wheels for Wheels Camp in Rutledge, GA, on Sunday, July 30. This is one of the best rides I have ever been on; last year was my first ride. The kids arrive at camp and then we ride in, greeted by all the kids circled around the driveway w/ posters, signs, etc. All the kids get a goody bag, including a build-a-bear. After arriving, we go inside and interact with the kids (painting nails, applying temporary tattoos, talking with and just hanging out with them). There is also a bike show that the kids vote on and the winner gets a plaque with a picture drawn by one of the campers. The kids wait the entire year for this day and love to see all the bikes come through. Registration is from noon - 1:30 p.m. @ SMHD and the ride leaves out @ 2 p.m. (police-escorted).
