did you want to keep the tail fairing?? if so you just have to cut slits in it to allow the bar to come through...having a bar is not recomended if you still plan on driving on the street, it blocks your tail light. having said all that there are two ways to do it, a bolt on kit that can be removed whenever or welding it on to the subframe. you will also need to weld braces on a couple of spots for the subframe or it will bend. We've done gsxr's that bent and a couple of our 929's have bent. Can i ask why you want one? Is it to actually scrape or just scared of going back to far? im just asking because with a buell its really hard to go back to far...trust me youll crap your pants before you hit anything, its almost a 2 oclock on a buell. hope i helped a little... brian |

Can't remember where, Vortex? There was a guy on an XB12R with one. It was bolted on where the passenger pegs mount. Didn't block the tag. Saw him walk th bike scraping the bar, goin' about 5mph. |

No i would scrape it up. Not for looks. But the big problem is the tail light. I still want that and my license plate showing. What spots on the subframe would need the welding? And cant you just make the bar a little longer so it wouldnt be a 2 o'clock? |

I think he means a stock XB (no bar) won't touch anything until you have effectively looped it. |

lol i meant for people just learing to twelve youd crap your pants...feels odd the first time. Buells are rock steady but their balance is a little higher up than other bikes. If you need any more help with a twelve or even crash cage just ask away. Havnt built one on the buell yet but our team could figure it out fairly quick. usually for the subframe after enough scraping it needs to be braced on the upper side of where it bolts to the main frame. eventually the whole subframe will want to bend upwards if that makes sense.. and yes you could make the bar longer just be careful because too long and the bike wont be in the balance zone when you try to scrape. brian |
