Yo,
So I dont think the Buell is for larger woman. We didnt get to ride, she noticed that the fit wasnt right. Even with my groin up againt the airbox cover, her flanks were off the back of the seat.
But guys, think about this....Not every guy that owns a Buell is going to have a petite passenger. Waddabout guys that like larger woman, that want to take them on hauls with the Buell? We got the motor for the job, but not the seat...I wonder if the company thinks about this. My wife is tiny ,and she's cool with the little seat. Large chicks, I think they feel left out as passengers with the XB's. They must. I know that girl did today. Maybe a carbon fibre ••• extender for the rear seat...
And so we never went for our ride.

No offense to anyone out there, but it sounds to me like she has some motivation to become fit enough to ride. After all, there is a certain amount of sacrifice we all must go through to do the things we love or want to do. Countless hobbies require a certain level of physical fitness: SCUBA, sky diving, skiing, etc.
Sure, as apposed to weight loss, you could build a Buell that could handle the load: The XXLB. But then again, it wouldn't have the same appeal your XB has.
I wonder if a group of sports car owners would be sitting around talking about how to widen their passenger seats and beefing up the right side suspension to accommodate a ride around the block with an overweight passenger...
For the record, I sit in the camp of not hurting a person's feelings. I was put into this very same situation with my girlfriend's cousin who was in from out of town. I took her for a ride and nothing bad happened to the bike. I'm 200 lbs and she's at least 250. But I did take the passenger pegs off the very next day to avoid further abuse.

For myself, I've never been put to the test, but I'd have a personal slash safety concern with a passenger that weighed substantially more than myself.
Kind of a toss up though. Which is worse and takes longer to heal - feelings or roadrash... |

If "It" (for the benefit of the women on the BWB) won't fit on the back of a Buell, what makes you think "It" will fit in that seat much less get over the threshold without scratching it all up? |

You cant go much more than 125-135 tops. That leaves out a lot of available women. |

An experienced rider can haul lot's more than he/she weighs. I had a 300+lb. bud, male, and gave him a few rides when his Norton broke down ( curse you Lucas!! ) with the exception of a 30 mph 3 block wheelie once, I never had an issue, other than looking silly.
This was on an old GT380 though, I'd never try that on my Cyclone. I shudder to think of how nasty the crash would be if the rear suspension, or subframe failed with a 500 lb load. |
