Changed out the oils today and thought I've give this stuff a try. Prelim results: tranny seems less "clunkier" especially on down-shifts compared to the Mobile 1 20-50 VTwin that was in it. Both are better IMO than the RP 20-50 Max Cycle which I tried once before, but that may have been due to slight over filling..
The RP works great in the motor though.

...risking the Wrath of Blake, I'll say this anyways - make sure that oil is safe for yellow metals (does not contain sulfides).

Amsoil Synthetic Transmission and Gear Lube 75W-90 is API GL-4/MT-1 and designed to replace 75W-85, 75W-90 or 80W-90 applications. It contains extreme pressure additives and is non-corrosive to yellow metals. It's great stuff.

However, Amsoil designs all of their products for specific applications, and your primary is not where Amsoil intended its 75W-90 gear lube to be used. The product Amsoil recommends for use in your primary is their Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle oil (MCV)- it was designed to replace H-D part#99851-05 (Formula +) and H-D part#99887-84 (Primary Lube). For older H-D engine designs (Flathead, Panhead, Knucklehead, Shovelhead) Amsoil recommends replacing H-D part#99892-84 (Transmission Lube) with either Amsoil Severe Gear SVT 75W-110 or SVO 75W-140 Extreme Pressure Gear Lube. Amsoil really does their homework.

I do not think you will have any problems using the 75W-90, but it's good to know that Amsoil has another product designed specifically for your application.

Great info there-thanks. I'll prolly go thru the 2 qts I've got, then give the recommended Amsoil MCV a go.
