My gut reaction would say no. But that might not be right. The cargo bet of the Sportrack is listed as 49.6" long, the wheelbase of the bike (XB short) is 52" with the overall length being 76.2" So it *might* work with the rear wheel on the tailgate, but it would be close.
I have a Ford Ranger standard bed and it fits fine in there...but it has a 72" bed. |

I have had two Chevy Colorado Crew Cabs (same size bed) My XB12s and XB12xt will fit with the tailgate up!
Both with the forks compressed down with ratchet straps. I'm not sure if that is good for them, but it got the bike home.
The XT likes it better with the bags off. Then they don't rub on the rails. The front tire on the XB's fit right up into the corner nicely.

if youve got a 2" reciever on your exploder, you can purchase a motorcycle caddy that slides into it and holds the motorcycle relatively flush with the back of your vehicle. very good for SUVs if you dont like/want to pull a trailer. very cost effective also. i used one to haul my 03 XB9S to florida when they bed of the truck was full of jap bikes. i didnt want my baby to have to ride for 8 hours alongside those infidales. |

That first one that Scheetz shows would be bad news for our bikes. IIRC the engine needs to be running to circulate oil in the transmission. Can anyone confirm this? |

nah put a hitch on the Jetta she has the power to pull it! (I know back to off topic) but if a Vibe with a 1.8L can pull a bike on a small flat bed a Jetta can pull a buell on a cycle dolly. and as for the A4 with only a few mods to 300HP is this what you would be looking for?

Will towing your bike with the rear wheel on the ground eff up your transmission? Seems I remember that being counter-indicated in most cars I've owned. Though I've never been quite clear on why. Gears aren't spinning to lube the output shaft bearings?
We always did drive shaft disconnects for tow cars. Even on the manual transmissions (rwd) on auto trans.. we'd hook up an electric pump if the drive wheels had to be on the ground. |
