The Full Throttle Motorcycle exhibit at the Shelburne Museum is in full swing. A bunch of antique, custom and "race" bikes. I wanted to see a really trick MotoGP bike, or an old Buell, but no such luck. This custom did turn my head.

That's not strictly "ZTL." There's nothing new about inside-out or perimeter brakes, AP racing had kits in the 80's and my airplane had them when new in 1947. What's different and new about ZTL is both how the brake rotors are mounted floating to the rim, and Erik recognizing that this allowed the front wheel spokes and hub to be lightened considerably since they don't have to transmit any braking torque. That is a neat custom though; big conventional disks do tend to spoil the lines of a nice spoke wheel. |

That bike is a Goldammer special, modeled on the board track racers of the roaring Twenties. |

Yeah, I this one really turned my head, even before I saw the brake. Based on the small calipers I doubt it would stop quick, and you wouldn't really want to scrape the pegs, but neat none the less |
