I am looking to chop the tail on my 04 XB12 but not sure how to replace the turn signals without going with the integrated led brake light/turn signal. I have been searching for various LED's but not sure how to mount them. Anyone got any photos of what they have done?

Cut the majority with a hacksaw. The rest with a grinder to shape.

Well, after my tail was removed I found it was easier to wear off-the rack pants like everyone else...

4 1/2" grinder with cutting(thin) wheel, rough cut it and then get a finishing wheel to do the rest. Once you got it almost were you like, get a piece of sand paper(250-300) grid and smooth it out. Don't forget, you can always take away but can't put it back once you cut it, so go S L O W until you have reach you goal. also you should mark it with a sharpie and tape so you don't make burn marks and give you a guideline. Once you finish cutting and grinding use 500 wet sand paper and remove all the shine from the OEM finish piece and spray you final paint coating. 2 hours
total, including painting.......

What is everyone doing to regain the turn signals once their mounts are cut off?

Haven't done mine yet, but the easiest thing is to just relocate them on the tail piece as was done here.

Or it can be done like this.

Sifo beat me too it... But that's my method of dealing with the turn signals. /\ I was thinking of getting the smaller LED version lights from American Sport Bike.

I used the $15 Targa brand tag re-locator found in the Parts Unlimited catalog at my local sport bike shop. I mounted it by drilling through the tail piece. It mounts the stock signals, and if you bend the tag at an angle, looks like it was made for the bike. Lots cheaper than other options, too. You can use stock or aftermarket lights. Photos to follow...

I love where I mounted mine. I used keith's relocation bracket, and also had Pete at Grandstand Designs powdercoat the tail and the rails, everything turned out awesome.

As a mounting tag bracket you can purchase a piece of aluminum flat stock(1"x1/8") at Home Depot or Lowes, etc. and make two "L" shape brackets with 1/4" holes at both ends, one end bolt to the lower part of the seat underbelly and the other you bolt you plate to it. Total cost $2.99, by the way, you can paint it black semi-gloss to match the rest of the plastic.

Jeffroj - Where are you in GA?

I like all the do it yourself options. It is the #1 reason I went with Buell.

I did the same thing with my signals and plate as Lonexb did (but my signals are still stock).

Rocket and Ramm, there is a whole slew of Buellers in the Atlanta area. Check the 3%er forum in storm fronts.
Several live in Gwinnett, a couple in Marietta.

I grew up in Stone Mountain, but have been in Huntsville AL for the last 6 years.
