all you have to do to have both lights on is stick the switch in between bright and dim

or you could just switch the high beam wire with the euro light wire, takes 2 minutes, do a search to learn more.

I think it was just the contrast that made it appear to have both lights on.

09 American models also have the center Euro light.

I believe all the Lightning models have the center euro light socket, but do you mean the 09 models actually come with the bulb for the euro light?
