Well my bike would not start today and I think it's because it's been sitting. I want to charge my battery, is there a way to do this without taking the seat off? The bolts are all striped out to take the seat off. | ||

Charging is a pretty high current activity, so using a high amperage circuit is a must. I have never tried it, but I imagine that one could remove the front sprocket cover, then open the connector on the line that goes from the voltage regulator to the battery and attach the battery charger to that cable. I don't remember if the pins are available on that cable, and unless you have been in this part of the motorcycle before, it can be a bit confusing. Frankly, I would take the time to fix the seat bolts, you have to do it sometime, right? Perhaps another brother has a better solution. Anyone? | ||

I leave my bike on a battery tender, even if it will be just overnight. The pigtail is coming out the left side by the front heel guard. | ||

I leave the battery tender connected to the battery whenever the bike is parked in the garage. Not sure if it makes a difference in battery life of a daily driven bike, but it gives me peace of mind. The pigtail makes it super easy to connect and disconnect the tender. | ||

Most tenders say anything longer than a week sitting and the battery is losing too much of its charge. |
