The check engine light came on. The bike seems to run ok nothing out of the ordinary. Now what do I do? I tried the 1 and 2 pin (nothing) Any help would be great.

Are you sure you jumped the right two wires?

There are quite a few things that can fail and not make an easily/immediately noticeable difference in the way the bike runs, but as far as I know, every single one of them will trip a code.

On the 12s is the connector under the seat and on the little piece of velcro w/ a rubber plug in it w/ 4 pins? I couldn't get the light to flash.

I'm curious to know if you had EcmSpy would it tell you exactly what was wrong. I've never had my check engine light come on so I dunno..

edit: I take that back, I just checked & it says it'll give you trouble codes. Maybe you should opt to spend the 40-50 bucks on the cable? Free tps reset = added perk.

Sounds like you're looking at the right connector, in any event.

You need to jump the wires, key off, and then key back on before it will flash the codes at you.

ok, didn't do the key off and back on will recheck it during lunch and see what I get. I don't have a laptop for the ecmspy cable.

Also, be sure you turn on the kill switch on the handlebar also. The codes won't flash with only the key on. Both must be on to see the codes.

Ok I did the test and it came up 2 1. The bike is an 07 12s that is stock and runs well, From looking around here is that the code for the exhaust valve? The ecm is not the race one(wish list).
