Go wash her!!!!

I have had my XB for about a year and a half. only ran a wet towel over her once and never got down and dirty and fully washed her.
guess I'm just too busy or would rather be riding!

Well today I gave her a full bath!!!
WOW!!!! what a sharp bike!
I never liked the 03 wheels until now.
I love them!! (clean that is!)

So everyone, go wash your bikes!
If your that guy who your friends always laugh at because your bike is dirty and theres is spotless and you just respond by calling them big pansies who dont ride, just this once take there advice and clean her up! you will be glad you did!

Wash 'em?
I didn't know that. I thought that was what God made thunderstorms for.
Looks good though. I might try that one of these days.
Maybe when it's snowing.
Rotzaruck!

That silver frame is sharp. I'd like that on my '04 red 12R.

Hey guys I was with you for a year and a half. But the little lady made me wash the car, and I did the wheels and thought wow!!
I didnt know they ever looked this good.
(3 years and never touched the wheels, except the quick crappy brush swipe at the car wash)

I noticed my cars wheels had a polished lip I had never seen before and thought, I wonder what black beauty would look like with clean wheels! and WOW!!!!!
Suddenly I want to keep my silver ones.
I used to want black really bad, but for now I'll stick with my silver wheels and keep them clean!

Your bike runs better/faster/quicker when it's clean. This can't be proven by any scientific method or controlled test data, but it's absolutley true.

I can tell just by looking at your bike; it's running better.

I could clean it, but I am just going to go ride in the mud and muck at the end of the day anyways. IT gets my frustration out. There is nothing else like powerslidin on shale at 45mph, running through puddles, spinning rooster tails on loose sand and launching on forest service roads. The bikini girls wash it on Thursdays, but I get it dirty again that very nite. I just cant help it. Maybe if Buell built the dirty lil 450 I would keep the CityX off the trails and out of the woods. Until then, I earned that mud, sludge, dirt, grime, dust, & muck. PS I bet I find leaks faster than a clean bike ; )

I try to keep my bike clean. Dirty hides problems...leaks and what have you. And I like my bike to look good when I burning up some twisty roads.

I go visit a frind of mine on weekends that lives at the end of a 3 mile dirt driveway.

One of the most enjoyable things I do on Mondays is drinking a few beers while I clean and detail the bike after a Sunday visit out there. That Georgia red clay gets everywhere whether its dry or wet.

I'm not a clean freak though, there is a dull patina on my bike right now... but spending time cleaning my bike is bonding time for both of us.

How do you guys think that I feel? I came out of the house this morning and my wife was washing my bike!!! Just because I rode 383 miles yesterday, half of it in rain, and some new paint on my bike was looking real dirty(don't paint your Uly wheels to match the Barricade orange).

Maybe I should put her new front tire on her Blast!

Yeah, I've been known to let some lovely ladies keep Ferris clean too:

Of course, those photos were taken before my custom paint job and sport seat were added.

Cityx, instead of letting the girls clean your bike, you should use the bike to help the girls get dirty.

WWW.VIBERYDER.COM (NSFW!) Bikes helping girls get "dirty" since the 90s. No passenger pegs on the CityX , so that accessory will have to be on the Harley

I wash my bike frequently. A clean machine is a happy machine.

It also gives me an opportunity to visually inspect the bike.

I noticed a missing bold for the W frame after a washing.

Anal retentive has it's advantages.

You know what I've noticed? A clean bike can make the difference between going 192 mph and beating all the local rice rockets, or just getting left at the line.

Of course, to get up to the first 190 mph you have to use Michelin Pilot Sport tires, Amsoil, and the judicious use of teflon tape but no other engine modifications are required. Isn't that GREAT???

Eh...cleaning the car and bike is my 'outside time', so it happens once a month or so regardless of how clean or dirty they are.

...it takes more and more time, these days, though. Truck, car, Blast, Firebolt, and now a Ulysses. It's like an all-day affair!

I gave up on the damned 'stardust' wheels on the Blast and Firebolt a long time ago. It would take me hours to get them clean, screw that.

The bike wash pictured above definately was not the one at the Sherton in Brookfield last week. I kept hoping, but all I saw was old guys and new buells.

I was gonna sparkle up my XB wheels on the morning of the fatory ride last thursday, but woke up and said to myself, "China, would Erik Buell be outside this morning polishing wheels for Homecoming?" So I went back to sleep for another hour.

I managed to refrain while at Homecoming, bugs and all.

...maybe I'll get to it later this week. It was looking like I'd get rained on when I went out this evening for errands, but alas, even God Himself apparently doesn't want my bike clean. ; )

Two words for an attention getting bike....Carbon Fiber. All that really shows up is finger prints and bugs.
