Author Message   Kevinfromwebb Posted on Saturday, September 27, 2003 - 08:19 am:        I'm going to be changing the fluids in my new bike pretty soon.(XB12R). The owners manual says to replace the clutch cover gasket. I thought I'd read that they had changed gaskets? Will I need to change it or get one just in case??? It was the early 9's that did not. On my 9S I've pulled the cover a half dozen or so times using the same gasket. It wouldn't hurt to have a new one just in case the one you've got gets damaged when you remove the cover.   Rsh Posted on Saturday, September 27, 2003 - 12:38 pm:        I have taken my XB9R to the dealer for all the manuals recommended service intervals and they have replaced the clutch cover gasket every time. I had a hell of a time getting both the primary inspection cover and the clutch cover off when I changed my primary fluid for the first time... It seemed to me that they attached the covers when the "crinkle coat" finish was not quite dry.... anyway I had to make a little thin hook device to reach in and yank the covers off.... what a pain.... Just a little fore-warning...
