How many of you out there ride double on a Lightning? She won't want to go very often but I do want to be able to get her on there when she wants to go. We are both smaller in stature so I think we'll be ok, but it looks tight. | ||

i ride double on my ss a few times a year. im 6'3" 230lbs, my wife is 5'5" 140 of so! I just have to stiffen up the rear spring every time! (Message edited by americanmadexb on March 22, 2008) | ||

my g/f rides with me a lot. we have gone for 150 to 200 miles in a day before on a stock scg seat. that was kinda painful though...lol i now have a select seat. it is very comfy to ride two up on. it also help that she knows how too ride properly on the back. meaning that she braces off of the air box cover while stopping and such... once we got used to the two of us being on the bike it is a lot easier to ride longer distances. badlionsfan... i know what you mean... it is really hard to keep my mouth shut. there is way to much stuff in this thread that i could enlighten upon....lol | ||

I got my GF to sit behind me at the last bike show and there was still 2 to 3 inch behind her on the seat. Ok if your talking about a little bigger people then I guess your screwed. | ||

You know...riding double.  I've got these guys in my computer somewhere but can't find them. You'd think it would be hard to misplace something that large but I did. I stole this off a post in the quickboard. My wife doesn't want to go very often either but when she does you better believe I get her on there...wait...you were talking about the bike...my bad.  | ||

We do.... on my 12Scg, I'm 5'11 210 and she's 5'9 180 and the bike handles the load well. Stock Scg Seat...but on hard breaking it gets really tight!  But She does complain that the passenger pegs are too short for her legs. Anyone seen any longer ones? (like 6" longer)  | ||

I take my g/f on my XB12Ss all the time (100-200 miles). No problem even with the stock seat. | ||

the best example of commited two up riding i have seen, was at deals gap... i was there on my busa and was proud of riding it from florida to nc, being a geezer and all... here pulls up a young dude with his g/f and the family dog on a busa... i see that he a ca tag and asked him if he trailered...nope, he rode from los angeles to ny, to nc and was heading home...i didnt mention my ride! | ||

You haven't ridden two-up until you and yours perfect side-saddle. I will never forget the first time! Just take it easy for around-town jonts. Hex (ps. Regular passenger pegs work just fine.)   | ||

A couple of years ago I was riding with a couple who were 2-up on a 12S, and I was very impressed with their tandem cornering ability, as well as the fact that the 12S with two people on it kept pace with the rest of us riding solo. Granted, the lady passenger was an experienced rider herself, and the awesome power of an XB12 really has no problem moving the weight of two people, but it was impressive nonetheless. | ||

Yeah me and the old lady go for rides, Im 6'2" 205lbs and shes about 4'9" 374lbs. A real cute little thing, and she says its a little uncomfortable after a block or two, dont know why....lol...sorry I had too, she's actually about 5'8" and 130lbs and we do just fine, but I've got an XB12R, which is nice since we have our own seats, which keeps us in our own space...sorta. Shes so weird about wheelies though...a real pansy I tell ya..  |
