I just got my xb on tuesday and I just checked the oil and it looks as if it is running low. how often do you find you end up adding oil in between changes? maybe it just wasnt full when i got it?

My dealer said to expect to lose half a quart on break in, first 500 miles. Past that, i don't think I burn half a quart in 2000 miles. Just a reminder, check the oil when it's warmed up.

My XB9R needed oil added a lot during the first 800 miles. Just remember that from the low add line to the full line is only 4 ONCES!!!! After my first service I've not had to add any oil, even after very hard riding.

Mine burned through half a quart during breakin - but since then I've never burned more than a couple ounces each change. I put new oil in before the Northeast Adventure, and 3500 high-rpm hard ridden miles later it wasn't down enough for me to even notice a difference.
