Road the crap out of them yesterday at R.A.
All I can say is, if you have a chance, ride one. If you have the $$, buy one.
I've been riding Motorcycles since I was 8. That puts it at 30 years. Easily the most awesome bike I've ever ridden. Handles great. Power delivery is unbelievable. Nice and smooth. No abrupt power, but always pulling, no matter what gear you're in. We were not dogging it either. We were all pretty much beating the snot out of them.
Bouncing off the rev limiter in all but 6th gear. Draggin' knees. Spinning up the rear wheel out of turns. (that was a little scary) That would explain why some went down. NOT ME THOUGH!
Only complaint I have is it's TOO QUIET!!!
99.999% of the people that rode them couldn't say enough good things. And not just Buell fans. Riders of all makes and models.
I truly believe that this is THE bike that Erik was looking to build 25 years ago. Well worth the wait. Great job Buell!!!

Now put that engine in the XB12S frame, and now you have a bike, because WADR, the 1125 looks like an ugly duckling that was kicked out of the nest by mama duck....I have no doubt that it is a capable machine, but motorcycles are supposed to be a visceral thing....my $0.02 (I own an XB12S and sometimes wished it had the 1125's engine)

At the speeds that bike is capable of, you'd get blown off the seat without the "ugly" fairing. But to each their own. I didn't like the look at first. But after seeing them a while back and riding them yesterday, my opinion changed. Although the carbon copy paper color frame and swing arm still look funky to me.

I can't understand why they chose that color for the frame, flat black would have looked much better in my opinion.

At the speeds that bike is capable of, you'd get blown off the seat without the "ugly" fairing.

Well I have tried the KTM superduke that put out similar power and speed and I didn't get blown off the bike so the "ugly" fairing isn't mandatory and it would be great to have that motor in a S frame

I agree with rocketsprink totally, that bike is so easy to ride, I have 2 nitpickin complaints, the footpegs are a little buzzy & the rear brake is a little weird to find ,& yes I know its adjustable, the motor is electric!!!! we were ridin the crap out of these things at R. A . no kidding this bike rocks!!!

were you doing 155MPH plus down the front straight 7/10ths of a mile long at your local track? Don't compare the 2 if you haven't ridden them both. I have so it just the way I see it. I didn't start this post as a debate as to which style bike people like and what they think Buell should do.
That motor won't fit in a S frame. They'd have to strip down the new bike and go from there. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see that in the near future.

Hey Rocket, the "Holy Schmidt" was supposed to be my line.

I agree with the fairing also! At the speeds we were seeing on the RA front straight coupled with the 30mph head wind, I really had to hold on when I sat up to brake for turn 1!!

Two items of complaint, and only one actually pertains to the bike. First, the bars seemed rather buzzy from about 8 grand on up. I was told by a Buell rep that this would be taken care of on production bikes. The second was the fact that I am used to GP style shift. So I found myself concentrating a bit too much on getting the shifting right at times.

Getting back on my 9R race bike seemed like a lot of work. I really had to work hard to go fast on my bike compared to the 1125, and not just because of the hp advantage. The combination of incredibly smooth and powerful brakes, slipper clutch, and super smooth transmission made the bike a real pleasure to ride. The other thing I noticed was that my bike required a constant pressure on the inside bar to hold a line around the carousel. On the 1125 I could set the line and almost let go of the bars and it would track itself around.

Finally, the power was incredible. It was a smooth seamless delivery all the way to redline. There were never any surprises. Just smooth power anywhere in the range. The bike was still pulling all the way to the rev limiter. I know this because I ran smack into the limiter, and the cut off was so abrupt that it lifted me right off the seat!!

I was out on track with a couple of the intended targets for this bike, the 999 and the 1098 Ducati. I got into a pretty nice cat and mouse game with the 1098 rider. I was able to drive out of the corner harder and faster almost every time. I was also able to draft and pass him on the front straight on one occasion.

Overall a very good time!! Let's hope Buell keeps this program going!!

I'm pretty sure that isn't the bike, that's a slip angle difference of front vs rear tires. You can do the same thing on your XB via tire pressure split front/rear.

Think of it this way: cars are well known to either understeer, be neutral, or oversteer. It's the same thing on a bike- if you have a higher front slip angle, you are understeering (turning into the corner), and if you have a higher rear slip angle, you are oversteering (countersteering through the corner). It is very possible that the Buell guys spent some time figuring out what tire pressures to use to make the bike handle neutral, where you are at zero steer angle mid corner.

A Superduke puts out about 120 crank HP. That's about 30 less then an 1125R.
