I did a quick search, and it doesn't look like anyone has tried this stuff yet...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VHT-Nite-Shades-Len s-Paint-Spray-Smoked-Taillights-Lite_W0QQitemZ2901 33965737QQihZ019QQcategoryZ6755QQcmdZViewItem

I'm thinking about doing it to my taillight and signal lenses, unless anyone has any stories of having bad luck with the stuff.

I don't think making it more difficult for cagers to see you from behind is a good thing. But, to each their own. The brighter the lights, the better.

i have ridden with a couple of guy's with smoked tail lights, and don't really like to. it is very hard to tell when they are getting on the brakes. if it is hard for me to see, it is worse for a cager. i personally want everyone to see my brake lights and signals. it is easy to see what people are doing in front of you. but not so easy to keep an eye on people behind you.

The turn signals are smoked enough. Maybe a piece of tinted film over the brake lens, but really whats the point? Black lens don't look good.

That spray stuff looks cheap and crappy, don't do it! I see ricer cars all the time with that stuff. Terrible.

The Buell turn signals are actually small and nice looking in comparison to the Jap bike pieces IMHO. Take the pre-2007 Honda CBR600RR for instance. It has huge ugly turn signals. I don't know what they look like on the 07s. On the other hand, Suzuki did a nice job of integrating the turn signals into the tail piece and the mirrors on their Gixxers IMO.

I had smoked signals all the way around on eVilTwin for a while. Some of my compadres said that they were hard to see.

Changed the back ones to regular amber. Much better.

UN-tinted is safer, IMHO.

the VHT Nite-Shades paint works well when applied correctly.. .

while i agree with everyone else here that brighter is better/safer, some info if you choose to try it out. around 7 coats will get you the blacked out lens appearance whereas 1 or 2 coats will get you a light smoked appearance.

Google lens tinting, there are some great web-tutorials on prep/paint/clear to get a tight end result.
