I got my 12Ss in Dec '05 and rode it for the first year without any issues. I love this bike and am really attached to it. In December '06 some jack a55 decided it would be fun to push it over in the parking lot... I had a clean record so I just let insurance cover everything even replacing the frame and stuff so I would have 'my' bike back. Well I had it for a couple months after the repairs were finished and someone else decided it would be fun to push it over again (totally different location so not the same person). Will insurance kill me on rates if I have to make multiple claims close together? As I should have expected the damage was actually worse this second time so while I could have just let it slide the first time. I love this bike but if this is going to become a recurring theme then maybe it's time for something else. This rant's over, just had to vent.

Someone knocked my Buell over in Vegas earlier this month. I got off lucky just a turn signal, hand guard and scratch on the right luggage. Also a year ago someone ran into the back of my Yamaha GTS 1000 and knocked it over. It is mostly a sign of the times about people utter disregard for peoples personal property. At least with the Yamaha I had the bike parked deep in the spot so I think some yahoo pulled in blind expecting a empty spot. I have learned my lesson and park closer to the end of a spot now so not sure if a drunken idiot knocked my Buell over or another idiot in a cage. Still completely pisses me off.

I am always very careful about where I park my baby! My last bike was knocked over in my parking lot, with just a couple scratches.

Pushed over twice in a couple months?
Did you just break up with your girlfriend?

My friend at work has a Duc. 750 something...He went to his car port one morning and every piece of plastic was broken. The only part that wasn't damaged was the carbon fiber fender his exgirlfriend bought him. It wasn't damaged 'cuz she removed it BEFORE jacking up his pride and joy.

I have misgivings about the new / redesigned kickstands as they require you to rock the bike back as you seat the peg - something a non-rider who would come along and sit on your bike wouldn't know and unfortunately cause a tipover.

You may or may not have experienced an actual malicious act.

You can grind that pin off at the spring to defeat.

I'm rather glad I have an '03 (old/original kickstand)

You sure its being pushed over & not just falling off the side stand or possibly the side stand sinking ??

What the heck is breaking from a tipover other than possible lights and levers? I could see maybe a footpeg or two...

If you had to replace the frame from a tipover, sounds like you'd greatly benefit from a set of frame pucks. Great shock absorption, they are. Grab some axle and barend sliders while you're at it.

And install one of those cool pop-out sharp thingies like Blade has in his katana handle. Then you'll know who's responsible, 'cuz you'll have their fingerprints (and all their fingers).

I parked mine at the Harley dealer, of all places, and was inside buying frame pucks, and came out, and there was a nice rip in my seat on the right side passenger area right where it meets the frame. Brand new bike, had 39 miles on it. Didn't notice it before I went into the store. It's pretty obvious. Can't say for certain, but...

So, yeah, I think it can happen. In fact, it can happen anywhere.

Frame pucks, bar ends, and axle sliders.
All worth their weight in gold. Do it before this happens.

Guess I've been lucky.

I've never had anything happen to my bike in a parking lot.

Now, it has been on its side in a creek, and skidded across the road on its side when a dog ran out in front of me.

In both occasions, it was less than $150 to fix it. Gotta love those frame pucks!! : )

My XB9S 03 has dropped 3 times, twice on the left, (wife locked the brake and low side), I jumped off it at a stop light to help a fallen R6 and forgot the kickstand, and the last fall/drop was moving at about 10MPH,

Ok the last one I have to talk about just a bit, I was going 10 while pulling up to my exit gate to my community and long story short I kicked a rock. this rock wedged in between my rim and brake on the front tire and when it made its way to the caliper...instant stoppie. after the rear tire came back down I dropped the bike on the right side.

The only damage the bike got ever was the wreck my wife had. some small scraps on the left side scoops and frame.

Frame puck covered the frame blemish.

Who ever is pushing over your bike must really slamming it down.

if you ignore all the rest of my message remember this DONT KICK ROCKS

In the words of John Travolta, It would have been worth to have him do it, just so I could catch him. (speaking of his malibu of course, but still applies to Buell ) Frame pucks are my friends. Roll cage coming soon; Thanks Josh

It's definitely not the side stand... the bike has fallen onto the right side both times. I was at my apartment the first time and my fiancee's the second so I can definitely rule her out. This time someone saw the people who did it (group of teenagers who smashed out windows in stores and a car etc on their way to the Buell). They were definitely pretty vicious.... the bike slid about a foot after it hit the pavement (as per the marks on the parking lot). This time it's the handlebar, both brake levers, right footpeg is gone, right mirror is gone, exhaust pipes are scratched, frame is scratched pretty good, small scratch on the passenger peg, and a scratch on the swingarm right by the axle. I will definitely end up keeping the bike because I love this thing but I can say for certain that there will be an alarm and frame pucks/sliders in the near future.

Man, that's a bummer. There were witnesses? You know, kid's parents can be held responsible for the damage they did. You ought to file a police report. If they ever get busted, you may be able to take them into civil court and reclaim some damages. Just don't wait too long.

I lowsided at about 10mph into a small ditch. That was after a cage took up my side of the road and theirs. With the frame pucks the bike only had scuffs on the lower plastic on the left side. I rode it out with my left knee in the ground. So Frame pucks are worth 100 times more then they cost. Good luck Brupska

I've already filed a police report and the cops took down a description so I'm really hoping they can catch someone.... but I'm not to terribly hopeful.

I never understood why frame pucks are not standard.

Looking at the salvage buells most of them do not have frame pucks on them.

My guess is in Ohio! LOL! Seriously, that's why I make sure to park right next to a brand new Screamin' Eagle Ultra or something, that way if my bike goes over, it takes theirs with it!

I used to try and ride my bike everywhere I went including shopping, errand running, and to work, etc. During this time I had multiple problems with near misses in traffic, people sitting on my bike in parking lots, and even got in a fight in a Wal-Mart parking lot once when a guy cut me off (which I ignored and just swung wide and went around him because it happens so often), then caught up to me at the next stop sign and bumped my rear tire with his front bumper, and then got out and slugged me in the back of the helmet while my back was to him. He hit me hard enough to knock me off the bike. It crashed over on the right side but I did my best to let it down as easy as I could while I was falling off of her. I got lucky; no damage amazingly enough.

While I was grappling and rolling around the parking lot with this nutcase trying to get in a few licks, somebody called the police. Others pulled us apart. He then told me he would kill me and run over my bike and left. The crappy part is the cops gave him a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident (he drove off before the cops got there) and cut him loose. It turns out he is a local business owner, so the cops didn't do a thing to him. I even tried about ten different lawyers in town to sue him for a chipped tooth and punitive damages just to teach him a lesson, but each lawyer refused to represent me when they heard who he was. Some legal system we've got here.

Anyway, now I just joyride on the bike and never go to stores on it. No problems since. It takes a lot of willpower not to retaliate since I drive right past the jerk's store and home every day. I'm thinking he's awfully lucky I've simmered down a bit as I've aged. My bike is my most prized possession.

I'm very cautious about parking my bike anywhere but my garage, sometimes I have to. I dont understand why people like to kick bikes over but they do. AND SOMEONE TELL ME why they think its ok to sit on it? Someone caught a girl sitting on my buell at work, told her, do you know that guy? She said yeah and he's got a beautiful bike. I have NO Idea who she is??? My wife would KILL her!
