Got a new dual compound Pilot Power rear to go with my std Pilot Power front and it seriously rocks . There was never anything wrong with my old Pilot Power rear but the 2CT compound inspires so much confidence that little Michelin guy on the edges is toast already !

Got the tyre on Friday, changed the oils and adjusted the primary Saturday morning, then went out for the best ride this year. Superb weather, great bike and the roads to myself while half the population stayed indoors watching football. The World Cup should be held every year

A Michelin tire rep at the NY Motorcycle show told me that this tire, which has a harder compound in the center, and softer one on the sides, will NOT be available in the USA until next year, (2007).

So it is harder in the center and softer on the sides? It is called a Michelin Pilot Power 2CT? I was all ready planning on getting pilot powers this week, but is this new version available in the US? Thanks.

I never realised they weren't available in the USA. For sure it's a great tyre and worth having if your supplier stocks them but otherwise the std Pilot Power is a very good choice.

FWIW here's a pic of Mr.Edwards lapping at 8 seconds (ho ho) off race pace with 2CTs on his M1.

Allegedly the tyres held up well and weren't a molten mass of boiling rubber after several laps on an admittedly de-tuned M1
