i want to put some new bars on my 9s... something with a much more sporty feel, few inches down and few forward... how hard is it to change them out? Any suggestions on a bar set that isnt too much mulla but will be comfortable? thanks guys, Alex | ||

Alex, I just put on a set of Moose Racing CR Low Carbon Steel that I got from Motorcycle Superstore.com for $17. Installation was probably a 2 out of 10. You should drill holes for your switches to lock into and I had to reroute the throttle cables, and pull some slack out of the clutch cable to make it work. I haven't ridden it yet, need a new front tire, and snow. but it feels real good just sitting on it. Besides, I figure if they don't work out, I am only out $20. | ||

I would say go with crossroads, I just can't get enough of these bars. I love them. And like you were saying, you want more upfront and down farther, get the crossroads from American Sport bike. Worth every Penny. But like gearhead said, the CR Lows are nice.. but you have to drill holes, and etc...just depends on the person I guess, I don't know.. I like the plug and play with the crossroads.. already have holes in them. And routing the cables is easy. But this is also my opinion. Hows the bike coming along? is it all updated yet? Pictures? | ||

Yes and no. The bars I have are actual vintage Laverda bars, the ones you have found are replicas made by Raask in Denmark. I haven't seen them, but I hear they are a pretty good copy. The way they are illustrated in the web site you referenced, they are shown as they were mounted on the original Laverada Jota to create a racing posture  I have inverted mine for a more comfortable position, but one that is much sportier than the stock and the Azonic bars.  The thing about these bars is that they are almost infinitely adjustable, you can really get a wide range of positions. |
