so i get the JIMS tool drill out the broken exhaust stud and start tapping the hole. About half way done when the tap shatters in the stud hole I am tapping! So I ended up removing the rear head and drilling the tap out. I need to have the head welded now and completely retapped.

Since head is off and the engine is rotated, can I pop the 1050 kit and stage 2/3 heads on it right now or do I have to completely strip the bike? Since I've gone this far, I might as well do the kit if it's not more disassembly....

It is not that much harder to take the frame off of the motor. You do not take the motor out of the bike. You take the frame off of the motor.
