I bought my 1125CR out of state, and bring it back to the dealer every once in a while. I'm pretty sure this New Berlin dealer is signed up with EBR...

Most states have laws that allow for collecting the difference between the "out of state" sales tax and your home states sales tax if the out of state one was lower. A generic example would be if you paid 4% sales tax in Texas and your California sales tax where you plan to register your "new to you" purchase is 8.5%, California will asses you the difference of 4.5%.
The laws are in place to prevent loss of tax revenue and in state business.
This applies to first time purchase/registration into your name, not out of state transfers. Soooooo..... If you can buy something out of state and save a ton of money on a lower sales tax, you can get around your states collecting the higher "local" tax if you can register the vehicle in the state where you bought it (at the lower tax rate) and then when you have all your paperwork, you can "re-register" it in your home state because you are already the current registered owner rather than it being a "new" purchase, just as thou you were moving from state to state.
Some states will still try to weed out this tactic by imposing a "within one year window" on the purchase and on seeing that your current license and other vehicle registrations are all local and not from the state you're trying to say that you're "importing" from.
I've seen people claim that they purchased and maintained the vehicle in question for an out of state family member to satisfy that loophole.
The DMV folks can really dig deep and make you jump thru some hoops if they want, or you can always get lucky and get a clerk that's a little more lax. Kinda like registering a dirt bike for street use. One clerk might say "no way" and send you packing, but the clerk at the next window stamps your paperwork and hands you tags...

Texas charges you 6.5% tax on 80% of the trade in blue book value if you are transferring the title.

If you are titling a vehicle you currently own, with a title in your name, but from another state, they impose a $90 tax.

GOE Harley-Davidson/Kawisaki in Angleton, TX is now GOE Harley-Davidson/Kawisaki/EBR! Just got their stuff in yesterday. They have floor space and shirts and other swag and now answer the phone "GOE Harley-Davidson/Kawisaki/EBR"

that is abeutiful bike, it looks like it moving, just like watching a Ferrari.
it would be cool if one of the models was a racing replica withour additional cost to the customer. its free marketing for all the sponsors.

Lovely bike, but that paint job just wouldn't work on the road for me : (

I couldn't ride around with HERO in huge letters on the side of the bike without blushing : )

OK for race sponsorship, but road bikes should be a bit more restrained methinks (unless you really do wear your underpants over your trousers and get changed in telephone kiosks of course) ; )

Race replica graphics have been a staple of sportbike marketing for eons.

Race replica graphics have been a staple of sportbike marketing for eons.

I have no argument with some race replica schemes. Ducati Red and Repsol are pretty popular for road bikes after all, and a lot of Jap sports bikes feature some kind of race replica derived scheme really. I'm particularly partial to a good Red Bull or Monster Energy paint job myself.

The EBR basic red & white paint scheme is actually nice and I could live with that. It is just the large HERO stickers I couldn't live with on this one ; ) I wonder if you can peel them off, or is that an extra cost option ; )

Oh, I'm sure you can buy in in a lot of different paint schemes. Just cut that check for $40,000 and they will take care of it; )

Matt, I agree. My neighbor has one of those Rossi replica R1's. I'm not sure I would go that route. Also, what does a HERO sticker mean to the general public? Even if they knew who HERO is, don't they just sell mopeds?

Hero sells more motorcycles than any other company in the world.

Terry, I was just being sarcastic. Although if you think about it isn't the largest bike they make 200?

I would ride that daily!!!

Also, I'm pretty sure that after last year there are a LOT of people who would recognize the Hero bike now.
