I want to start fine tuning my suspension.I have set up the bike according to the manual for a base line. I was wondering if anyone knew the front and rear static and rider sag for these bikes? Is it different then most sport bikes because of the geometry? Thanks Jack |

You'll never be able to get the front sag set correctly unless you weight 300lbs. I'm chaning my front springs when I service my forks. |

???????????? You'll never be able to get the front sag set correctly unless you weight 300lbs Front sag is 29mm as set by a pro for me @ 195 lbs w/ all gear. Maybe my '08 has different spring rate than yours 4ever - I seem to remember a discussion that they changed the springs at some point in production. I have track on Thursday (novice). I checked my suspension settings tonight and my rebound and compression are set way too high (too close to the maximum) so I have not been using the bike's suspension in those turns. Looking forward to softening up the ride and getting her to handle like she was made to! |

I should have said, you'll never get it set correctly for the street. Most online sources recommend more than 29mm of sag for the street. You may have softer springs in Canada. 60% of Americans are fat, so heavier springs. |

The 09 front spring are still too heavy...! I weigh 245, and have the front springs backed all the way out...and wish I could go farther. Not far enough out to spend the bucks to have new springs put in right now. Mike |

IIRC they changed near the end of 08MY. Not sure if any 08s got the softer springs tho. |

anyone have a production date separating early from later? IIRC, July 2008 was the month they changed the springs. I used to know the specific day, if you are good at searching here you can probably find an old thread with the actual date. |

1_Mike, >>> The 09 front spring are still too heavy...! You mean "stiff"? >>> I weigh 245, and have the front springs backed all the way out...and wish I could go farther. Adjusting sag sets the ratio of compression travel to rebound travel. It has little effect on suspension stiffness. If you want a more compliant suspension, try adjusting the damping settings. If that is not satisfactory, try reducing the fork oil level slightly and/or changing to a lighter viscosity fork oil. (Message edited by Blake on May 03, 2011) |
