Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but it just started happening to my 09 CR.
I think i have Rev B. Dealer today said that they change the gasket to fix that issue and the "new" clutch cover (i am assuming Rev C) is actually an upgrade from Harley and not a recall or fix so i have to pay for it.

Is that right ?

If your bike is still in it's warranty period and it's started leaking, it's HD that should pay for the repairs, not you.

I just noticed mine has a wet spot under the puck today after reading .
I pulled the puck and found fluid inside . Is this normal at 3800? What causes this?

If you have a warranty on the bike they can't charge you for the clutch leak fix. The p/n for the kit is x2086.1am.
They do not need to change the cover unless the paint got taken off by the leaking hydraulic clutch fluid, if the cover looks good then you can keep it, as i believe the covers are on back order. As far as i know there is no rev c cover, if you have an 09 you have the rev b cover. The internals are causing the leak, and x2086.1am has all the new internals that the dealer will need to fix it.

Also, if your dealer is trying to jerk you around, then i would suggest you find a different dealer. Some Harley are not buell friendly, and do not know how to work on buells.

curve carver,
it is a common problem on the 1125's. Hopefully your bike is under warranty, if so have your dealer order p/n x2086.1am. That is a kit that comes with new internals to fix the clutch leak. You can still ride the bike, just make sure you monitor the fluid level in the master cylinder. If you loose enough fluid you will loose your clutch. Also, try to wipe the fluid off of the clutch cover. The hydraulic fluid takes the paint off of the clutch cover. Your dealer will tell you that x2086.1am is on backorder, but the only part that is on back order is the cover, as long as you have the rev b cover, all they need to change out are the internals.

I am little confused. Will the fix under warranty mean just changing the internals or also the cover. You say the cover is part of the kit,...

yep,..bike is under warranty.

Are you sure there is no Rev C cover? i have seen it mentioned here several times. I thought the cover was also part of the problem and not only the internals.

The dealer has been alright so far,..its actually one of the more Buell friendly places here.

Internals. The outer cover has nothing to do with it.

Just because its on the internet dosen't mean its true.

Yes you would have to pay if you wanted to change your outer cover and nothing was wrong. Similar to a dealer charging to change your mirrors or exhaust.

If your cover's finish was damaged from the fluid leak, H-D owes you a new one.

I think you really need to look into finding a new dealer for warranty work.

I say that because from your description it seems like they are pushing a supposedly updated part (updated meaning that something was amiss with the old one) as an optional upgrade to your bike when it could potentially be part of a solution to your warranty issue of clutch fluid leaking. That is based on my interpretation of your situation, and may not be how it actually is.

Its not that bad. They are going to fix the issue. He mentioned that there is no upgraded clutch cover as part of a recall/fix (what i thought was rev C as mentioned here before), But there is a "different" clutch cover from HD which has nothing to do with the leak, but it offers more protection in case of a slide.....? I had never heard anybody mention that here before, that's why i was curious.

If you guys are saying that there is no newer version then the rev B, which came with the 09s, then my cover is fine and all i need is the internals.

But i thank you for the post and am keeping it in mind as this progresses.

Any info on this new mystery cover ?

I have not heard of a rev c cover. The point that i am trying to make is that my dealer told my p/n x2086.1am is back ordered. what i found out is that only the clutch cover is back ordered. So if your cover is fine just have them get the internals, the only reason the cover would need to be replaced is if the paint has been taken off from the hydraulic fluid leaking.

Is X086.1AM considered a permanent fix, or have people been having problems recur afterwards?

I've only seen one report of a leak after the fix. Can't rule it out based on that, it is possible it wasn't installed correctly or possibly not at all and "fixed" with more of the older defective components.
