I looked and didn't find the info in the four or five threads I checked - my apologies if this is covered elsewhere - Please help.

On the 2008 1125R: I have located 'spool' bosses on inside of swingarm about 2" in front of axle. In order to mount spools at this location, you would need to mill the outside face of the swingarm flat (about 11/16" diameter, centered on 6mm hole) to get the base of the spool to mount flat against the swingarm. I know I'm just restating the problem, but I am not seeing the solution here. I'm not worried about drilling through the swingarm at this location as it is more or less in the center where stresses would be minimal (in most situations). What I am concerned about is the thickness of the swingarm and whether milling a flat face is even possible without cutting through (or leaving so little material that there is no real spool support).

I'm not particularly interested in the "hook-on" option mounted to the bottom flange of the swingarm - Also, the 'through axle' option doesn't really help me when I want to remove the wheel.

The other alternative I see is to fabricate a make-up piece between the swingarm and spool base to transition from the angled swingarm face to the flat spool base. Lost wax casting ability, anyone??

Thanks

I've got both options available. Drilled and mounted through the swingarm and also one that isn't. I'd recommend the removable type myself even though I came up with the drilled version first and it works fine.
