What the best sounding slip on exhaust, without changing anything; I like a deep/throaty/loud sound; what's everybody thoughts

Best clip I have heard is of D_Adams slip on. It's got a nice deep tone.

My HMF is just annoyingly loud sitting at a light or puttering through a small town or creeping home after dark...just out of control nasty.

I would say this is the most subjective topic, even more so than oil and helmets cause at least those have a little more "matter of fact" quality to them. I have the Jardine RT-5 Titanium and it is ALOT louder than stock but has a nice low and deep tone (low and deep arent the same thing). I wouldnt call it obnoxiously loud. The DandD however is. Subjectively of course.

I have the D&D on my 12XBSs and like the sound on that bike, nice low rumble. I am between the D_Adams and the Barker for my 1125CR. I like the looks of both exhausts. Any advice?

Raw stainless with an aluminum or carbon fiber can, then go with a Barker, FMF, HMF or Jardine, they're cheaper (around $400 or so) than anything I can make. Stainless with maybe a light polish (or raw SS if you prefer) in multiple configuration options, then you might want mine. Do you want an oval muffler, single outlet, dual outlet, or maybe a round one? Maybe you'd like a twin pipe setup instead, dual cans with a crossover? I'm planning on doing the round one this weekend if I can get enough time. I had planned to get it done this week, but life intervened and changed my mind for me. Other people wanted stuff built, so they got priority over what I wanted to do.
Mine are priced between $550-800, depending on what you want, but polishing is extra. I haven't built the 2-1-2 crossover pipe yet, it's still in the design phase in my head. I would imagine I can build that one for under $800-900 in raw form, but until I actually buy the materials and build one out, I won't know for sure.

Loud would have to be hands down the D&D exhaust, but sounds more tame at highway speed. You would have to have great neighbors for this pipe. Like I have!!!!

From what I have seen, I like the dual outlet slightly better than the single. Would a dual outlet be slightly louder than a single outlet? Round muffler louder or quieter than oval? Would I need to go to a race ECM on any of these? Thanks for the help!

I’ve not put my money where my month was yet by buying an exhaust system. I’m waiting to see what shakes down with the EBR slip on version of the race pipe. However, from the posts floating around here, that may be a long time out. Therefore, I’m still mostly up in the air what I what. Looking at the EBR race pipe, visualizing converting it to a slip on version, I was wondering if there’s a flow advantage to the increased “Y” and primaries length verses over other designs. I’ve got to think there would be. If so, do you have plans to utilize any of these design features in your future designs iterations?

Wec_032 -- The dual outlet is louder, performance is identical though. The round muffler will most likely be the loudest yet of what I've done so far. I'd guess that tuning an 1125 would be beneficial for power because they all run on the lean side. That being said, I'll point you to the dyno charts post. All of the custom pipes I've made have run identical to stock for a/f ratios, so yes, to some it would be lean. If it's good enough for Buell to have released it that way, I would have to go on the assumption that there isn't any danger of grenading your engine due to it running lean. You could definitely see some improvement on a dyno from tuning or the EBR race ecm, although I have no empirical proof of that yet. Spring isn't close enough for me to make a run to the dyno to test it, nor do I have an EBR ecm in my grubby mitts. Yet. I am from Missouri, most of the stuff I have to see for myself. I'm hard-headed that way sometimes.

Arcticcr -- I have some theories on the subject of the exhaust and how it's designed. I am NOT an engineer with a degree, nor am I as well educated as Mr. Buell. I'm just another guy with a welder making some semi-educated guesses, which have so far been proven right on the designs I've done. I will definitely do more playing around with the collectors, but I will only release what works. If it loses power from stock, it will not ship out the door. None of the stuff I've done is "pretty" by any stretch of the imagination, but it is functional and clean, so I'm happy with it.
