It's time guys! Need to get a set of front brake pads.

I've been reading some forums for more info on the after market pads and I was getting that the EBC's and Ferodo's have a better stopping capacity then stock, but have the same brake applying feel.

Good things were said about Lyndall's, but I'm sekeptic on the fading issues.

I'm an aggressive street rider who also likes to just cruise around. Which set of pads would you think would fit me?

: )

I called Al at American Sportbike he recommended the Lyndall's. For canyon carving and commuting. All three brands have different material for street and track. Its hard to beat the EBC price 50 bucks for the front as apposed to $100 for the Lyndall's.

IMHO:

for the money EBC HH.

for the aggressive rider/tracker EBC Pro Extreme.

"Its hard to beat the EBC price "

I've acquired a set of these; any feedback from those who've used them on the track or street; e.g., better for one or the other, or a no-no on the street, or?

I have a set of EBCs on my zx9r. They are the ones made for the street. I cant remember the model name of them. I like them a lot. There was improved lever feel and better stopping power. Not enough that you will send yourself over the handle bars though.

I would think that track specific brake pads wouldnt heat up sufficiently on the street for optimal stopping power.

I just put on a set of EBC HH pads, from American Sportbike. Improved lever feel and better stopping, as compared to the stockers. And the price can't be beat.

Veserah also released a pad for the 1125r... don't know much about it yet.

For the track, I like the EBC 4HH (super duper extreme poser pro model!)

If your rotors aren't all the colors of the rainbow, the EBC super extreme whatever aren't for you -- get the regular HH.

Awesome. I'm going to order the EBC's.

Does anyone have a good tire selection to match? I was going to get the pilot powers but I have no complaints with the corsa's.
I do a lot of highway miles. Tires began to plateu, but I expected it after 8000 miles.

Any tire recommendations?

Ive had great luck with Bridgestone bt 021 on my zx9r. The rears last about 8k miles and the front 12k. When its time for tires, Ill see how they work out on the 1125r

Lyndall Gold pads drastically improved the feel of the brakes on by XB12Ss. They got rid of the light-switch on/off quality of the stock pads. Much more progressive feeling. I've never seen any sign of fade and I'm someone who hits triple digit speeds commuting to work (if any police officers are reading this, I'm totally kidding).

Has anyone put steel braided brake hoses on the bike and felt a difference with stopping or lever feel?

I got 4,000 miles on my bike pad wear does look okay still for me. Pulses from the pads do happen from the stockers so its good to see the feedback from Lyndall's and the EBC's. I just want to reduce a little pulsing and if the EBC's accomplish this I will pick up these when I am over to see Al near the weekend. Everything else I am hearing is a bonus over the stock pads.

Erik took care of that for you -- they come with SS lines.

If you want to change the lever feel, first upgrade fluid to Motul RBF600, the upgrade pads, then finally an upgraded master cyl is the key.

I recommend the upgrades in a specific order: cost vs. improvement.

Does anyone notice more dust with the EBC's or Lyndall's?

The Lyndal Golds that I have on my XB forks (on the Sportster) don't throw off any dust whatsoever.
