I noticed Buell offered heated hand grips. Pricey they are,,, I would rather run Dual Stars for the price but I'm interested in the guards and I didn't notice them listed separately. Can ya get em separately and if so, what's the part# and price?

They offer a kit now for the guards, you used to have to buy it all separate. Not sure if it fits on the 1125's, there might be fairing clearance issues.

N1007.1ADMBE Black $84.25
N1007.1ADMBP Graphite Grey $84.25

They show -
1125R/1125CR Heated Hand Grip Kit [N1050.1AK]

{Fits all '08-later XB, '06-'07 XB12X and 1125R models. Stock on '08 XB12X models.}

as being listed specifically for 1125s. Are all the guards the same? If so, they will fit and I can save some money.

The guards pictured in the heated grips are NOT included.
All that's in the grip kit is grips and a RH controls module with the grip switch.
And some install tools.

Guards won't fit on an R.

Guards won't fit on an R without modification to the front fairing.

There ya go, Zack. I fixed it for you.

I've been thinking about ordering a set of hand guards and mounting them up, just to see how much trimming of the the front fairing would be required.

The fairing is great as-is
, but I am thinking that the hand guards would provide a little better wind protection when temperatures fall into the single digits.

So do a decent pair of winter gauntlets. I'd hate to cut up that fairing. I've ridden for over a decade with heated grips and a pair of Olympia winter gauntlets and never once felt the need for hand guards.

Get the ones with Thinsulate insulation and a Goretex laminate under the leather. By themselves, they're good to freezing temperatures. With the heated grips, well below that.

The OEM grip kit is a really high quality piece. It's made by Magura and the quality shows in the kit when you install it.

I say it's worth it, since it's so well integrated into the bike.

That mother gets HOT, too!

I have them on my track bike : ) It's a laugh riot on track days at Tech when they see them, but then on those cold first sessions, I'm having a ball, and everyone else is looking for a warm place to stick their hands.

I picked up Loretta almost 2 years ago right after a blizzard in December.
I was looking into the Uly handguards also, for obvious reasons.
I rode her 20 miles after they dropped her off, then rolled into the garage and installed the heated grip kit.

After I realized the guards wouldn't fit, I also realized I could move the existing grips inboard almost an inch.
So I drilled "winter" locating holes in the bars and moved them.

Note - the left heated grip is held on the bar with 2 screws, not glue.
The whole process of relocating the grips in for winter and out for summer takes about a half-hour now.

The extra coverage by the fairing in the winter position makes a HUGE difference.
Longest/coldest ride was 20 minutes at 14* F.

My god,,,, 200 odd dollars and they don't even include the guards!!!! Wonder how much the guards costs? If the handlebars and electric grips are any indication, they will cost around 200$.

I think my CR is staying stock for no other reason than the only accessories I want cost way to much.

I believe mine cost me 187.00
I'd spend it again for the quality(high), ease of install(an hour) and mostly integration(new right side controls with switch).

The guards are cheaper, my P&A catalog lists them at $84.25 a set, still lists the grips at $187.00.

How hard is it to install the heated grips? Fairly straight forward?

Hardest part is drilling two holes in the left bar, but it comes with a drill guide to help. The included bit sucks, use your own. Rest of the install is straight forward.

AHAHAHA.

They are the Acerbis Dual Road. LED lights could be used as signals. Although I think they are white.

They are pricey.

Think I would rather pay 155$ for the aftermarket guards with the integrated LEDS for turn signals than 85$ for the stockers. Then I could get rid of those mirror/turn signals and pop some bar end mirrors on it.

Think I will do the Dual Stars and take my chances on trying to reuse the throttle tube.

So, Extreme, did you get these mounted and signals working?
I have a new CR owner VERY interested in your results.
