"Please?"

Seriously, talk to them, tell them you would like to see if you have the current flash, that it might make your 11 run smoother.
Ask if they can check when they have time.

It takes a couple of minutes to check, flashing will take a little longer.

Without a recall you are "asking a favor", not "requiring/demanding service".

Good luck

Zack

He's not asking for a favor - the bike doesn't run as well as it should. That's a warranty issue, more or less.

Scu - they won't see this in the "recall" computer. They need to physically hook your bike up to the machine and it will tell them if there's a more current flash. The whole thing should take no more than 30 minutes or so.

Just take your bike in to A...Buell dealer, ask them to check and see what map number you currently have...!

IF...you don't have the one ending in "12Z", ask them to install it.

Simple!

I just had Biggs H-D in San Marcos, CA upload the 12Z flash. For me, they were very easy to work with and actually helped me out without lying or trying to charge me money.

Anyway, it seems to me that this ECM update made the engine feel smoother around 3-5K rpm. However, around 2K rpm with a steady throttle opening the bike now bucks pretty bad. Before the reflash it did not do that. I know someone is going to say don't ride with the engine turning that slow...save it. In first gear that is pretty much parking lot speed, so it is unavoidable if you are going through a parking lot or mall or crappy traffic. The only solution I found was to pull in the clutch, coast for a bit, then use the engine as necessary to allow further coasting.

In all, the improvement was worth it for me. If you do a lot of low speed maneuvers, you may want to wait until the next iteration comes out.
