Folks, Although I'm really enjoying the Saron pipe, I still want a Drummer!

I recently donated my stock 1125r pipe to Kevin for fun and research. I urge any other 1125 owners that are interested in a Drummer to also help support the cause.
Send an email to express interest...
Send a check for $20...

...and when its released I'll sell my Saron at a sweet price to a fellow BadWebber.

Well, I respect Kevin and the drummer, but it sounds like he is up to his eyeballs trying to juggle this side business and his life. Per a thread on the XB board, the current backlog for a SS drummer is a year plus.

We are working on it. We discussed the design parameters last week in detail and the plan is to hand fabricate a test muffler for my 1125. Once it works I'll have to make up the drawings so we can get the individual parts made in quantity. The fit up is a little tough with me in Jersey and him in NC but we'll get it done. Kevin's not going to rush it though. He's got to be 100% satisfied before he sells it. The production demands on his time are very high right now as well.

After the 25th I plan on taking my 1125 up to Kevin, for some fitment experimentation.

if i had a spare stocker laying around, I would send it to him in a heartbeat! Tragically I am going to have to wait the finished product so I can get mine! I have expressed my personal interest in the muffler to kevin

"side business"?

You mean like how producing Budweiser Select is a "side business" for Anheuser-Busch?

I waited for 4 months for my Drummer SS to install on my Lightning. It was worth the wait.
I hope Kevin can build enough of the 1125R mufflers to meet the demand.

Sorry, I thought it was a side business. I couldn't imagine a full time business getting backlogged over a year...maybe he should consider hiring somebody to help or stop taking orders for a while.

So how much is one of these gonna run us? The $1200 for a Saron is waaaaaay too much for me.

why are we urged to send him 20 bucks exactly?
i mean, i realize he'll have to spend money and time to produce these to sell them....but thats it, he'll then sell the exhausts and recoup his money.

look forward to seeing what happens with this though, i dislike my exhaust

donations are intended to help with initial start up expenses. (extra cans, tools, trial and error, food, beer, whatever)

no one should feel that they have to donate anything. I personally sent out my stock pipe with no expectations. Just a simple donation. Now he will have at least one extra can to play with..

"Were not talking rocket science here guys.."

Correct... It's Fluid Dynamics with a bit of both particle and wave physics thrown in with highly transient conditions.

You don't want lean spots at high RPM. That's BAD mojo.

i think its harder that it looks to make a well functioning exhaust, but like i said - to send someone money so they can make an exhaust that i later have to pay them for is dumb to me.
thats business = make a product and people pay you for it. thats when you get your beer money back etc etc etc
very nice of you though, i look forward to seeing what he makes for us
