Says it's just a prediction. Anyone else seen this article or other articles confirming this? http://www.zimbio.com/Motorcycles/articles/821/Bue ll+Drop+Firebolt+Ulysses+Lighting+2009 |

>> o A sport tourer much like the 1125 but with lower pegs, higher bars and hard bags like the old Thunderbolt ST. I figured two years, though time will tell + I couldn't wait any longer -- ha!. |

I think "article" gives this too much credit. It is just one person's speculation. At MB5 last weekend, John Flickinger(sp?) (Prez and COO of Buell) said they are committed to the air cooled lineup "as long as people want to buy them". I don't think a small outfit like Buell could deliver a replacement lineup nearly as quick as this person is claiming. They would have to be in final development testing by now to pull it off, and I think they are still too busy finishing the launch of the 1125R. Just my view... |

There was some mumbling about emissions standards - might this shed a little light? Can't imagine a wholesale phaseout of the entire line, save one model, just like that. |

The current air cooled Buell currently meet the next two graduated increased tightenings of emissions standards. Air cooled, for all the things it may not be, is very clean and gets great mileage. |

"I don't think a small outfit like Buell could deliver a replacement lineup nearly as quick as this person is claiming." Don't forget what kind of resources they have in Harley. People here can tell you that HD employees were used to work on the XB motors. Weren't the XBs and XBr launched in the same year? |

blather and pandering, amazing what passes for "journalism" My 7 year old nephew could post up a pic of a bike and make a comment about it, doesnt make it true. Hell if that zimbo guy can get a job for type of forecasting, I want it when he gets fired for that kind of inane writing. |

I visited Buell's factory in dec 07 and asked one of the head people this exact question and they assured me that Buell is dedicated to the aircooled line. |

how could they be getting rid of the xb line next year if they keep coming out with new ones. I mean come on do you really think they just developed the new xt to only make them for 1/2 a year not likley. I think the person who wrote that article was full of Sh*t. "kpaul" is (was?) a regular poster on www.motorcycle.com who at least used to be a typical Buell naysayer. His prediction is not worth the photons it was emitted on. |

Hope he is right. I love my bike and I think it is the ducks nuts. To stay in business Buell needs to develop. The air cooled XB motor has just about reached its full potential and has a plethora of aftermaket bits available which will keep it going for years to come. Time to move on to the next great thing to stay competetive. |
