Sorry not a buell but way better beleive me I have had both : )

I was living in California and this was my daily driver but moved to Washington and I am a fair weather rider so not much use for it anymore and hate to see such a beautiful motorcycle sitting in my garage half the year.

Like title says 2008 Night Rod Special it has Vance and Hines competition exhaust and fuel pak other than that it is stock besides K&N air filter.

This bike is a beast, tons of horsepower I love riding it just no use in it sitting around.

Asking $9,800 for an aditional $4oo will sale saddle bags as well.

Clean and clear title in hand.

Bike is located in Yelm, Washington. Willing to deliver for a fee anything less than 500 miles.

Easiset way to reach me is to call or text.

Will (704)995-1356

"Way better" is a matter of interpretation.

Haha ^^ didn't want to be the first
#1 rule! Don't post on a brand specific forum telling them your bike is "way better"!
VROD is nice, but having ridden one for a few hours, it doesn't hold a chance to a Ulysses in fun factor.

This forum members will likely rip you apart

As I said I have owned both still have a X1. You can't beat the comfort and power of a VROD. The new newer Buells can hang as far as power but they are no longer Harley.

I just see a bunch of haters talking crap about a bike they can't handle

No, no, no...us Bueller's, we're not haters. We love motorcycles made for different riding styles of all origin. Our gripe is with HD for what they so underhandedly did to Erik Buell and every one of The Buell Corporations loyal employees and customers. Com'on, you gotta admit...it was a pretty $#i++y thing they did, and in the manner which they did it.
V-Rod's...I think they are cool bikes...but posting one for sale here in the Buell Classified's most likely will not produce a sale for you. But, I kinda think you already knew that.

As far as power and comfort... Before I purchased my Ulysses in 2006 I owned a soft tail classic, at the time I purchased the soft tail I also considered the vrod and test rode both. I was not impressed with the power or comfort of the bike thats why I ended up on the soft tail. The reason I got rid of the soft tail was the limited rear wheel travel and the forward foot controls killed my back. My ulysses has an upright riding position and all day comfort with very strong power. Given the weight of the vrod verses the weight of the ulysses I should be as quick or faster than the vrod and would kill it in the corners while you are grinding off the running boards. The ulysses was rated at 103 hp from the factory I have k&n, Drummer exhaust, and EBR computer mapped for these so I should be higher than that. Here is what I found on a vrod forum about power.

"You'll probably get a lot of responses with claimed HP numbers but actual HP at the rear wheel where it counts is in the upper 90's range. After a pipe, and going topless on the air box, using a PCIII to get it dialed in, my actual dyno number at the rear wheel is 108. Some claim to be getting up to 124+ with just pipes and topless, but I'm skeptical of that as possibly being HP at the crank. Regardless, anything over 100 is pretty good considering the relatively light weight of the bike. Mine is a 2007 VRSCDX Night Rod Special. I think with cams and full exhaust, plus topless with a high flow filter you could probably get close to 120HP out of it. Anything more than that and you're looking at either a supercharger or turbo."

So its not like you have a 150hp+ rocket so get over your self.

only good thing about the VROD was the hot chick that jumped on it in the old commercials.

On a serious note. the VROD idea came from Erik BUELL... originally as a sport motor, but was interfered by... you guessed it, Harley
then a few years later 1125 came along.

You need more chrome to be considered a Harley...

Power to weight ratio its no faster then a XB. To be honest I've cooked a handful of them including one a customer has that's exactly like this one right down to the power pack and pipe. They are nice but lets not talk about big power. The V-Rod isn't.

Hater? Yes.

If AMF had treated HD the way HD treated Buell, there would be no HD today. End of Story. As a corporation they are bereft of ethics and are a stodgy, short sighted organization. They can kiss my pink pucker.

And of all of the "parts Bin engineering" that has happened over there, the V-ROID is by far the ugliest, must ungainly thing ever to roll through those factory doors. They had such an opportunity with the VR-1000 and completely wasted it.

Even if it has "Big Power' the condition of your rear tire speaks to what a steaming piece of crap that turd is from handling standpoint.

Glad you're keeping the X1. Good luck with your sale.

Nice looking VRod, good luck with the sale

If you "feel" the VRod has more power, I think your X1 is not tuned properly. With almost a 200 lb weight difference, a properly tuned X1 should outrun a stock VRod with no trouble. Handling-wise, X1 will run circles around a VRod all day long.

Aww jeez, hate to say it, but, I'd have the pipes and lower frame spars ground down in an afternoon. Although, it IS clean and shiny with chrome bits.. someone will buy it and look cool from light to light.

Everybody here claims they like all types of bikes and riders, but don't skip an opportunity to bash a Harley or Harley riders. I don't think Williep13 had anything to do with HD unloading Buell. Most harley riders I know would not be caught dead in a pair of chaps or a pirate costume, and none of them had anything to do with the Buell shutdown either. I have dealt with dealers and service managers like the rest of us, you just work around it, and those types exist at all dealers, not just Harley and not just motorcycles for that matter. I will continue to waive at sportbikes, cruisers, even vespas like I always have, and I will continue to stop and help riders on the side of the road, no matter what brand of bike is sitting there. You guys that still have your Buells please don't ignore my wave since it is now coming from the seat of an FLHR, I'm still the same person.

OH and that being said, williep you are sort of getting what you deserved with your initial post. This IS a Buell forum...

Don't hate the vrod too much, it's every bit as much of a bastard child. Absolutely no love or support at the hd dealer. I too own a vrscd (180 rear, mid controls) and an 1125cr, and xb12s. The vrod is the most reliable and in my opinion the most comfortable. The most fun, not so much. But don't hate ciz its a hardly abelson

Have you noticed that some of the EBR dealers are HD dealers? I have an 1125cr, but have owned an M2 and the HD VRSCR (Street Rod). The Street Rod was entertaining, but heavy and long. A nice bike, but the Buells are more fun. Reliability? The M2 lost its bottom end at 18,000 miles, the Street Rod had fuel injection problems and Skip Fordyce refunded the purchase price after 11,000 miles! So, the '09 1125... is actually the most reliable even with a voltage regulator change and clutch weeping! Hahaha!
