Midnight_rider,

L1020.8 is the correct part number that it supercedes to, I quadruple-checked it before I ordered it as the S3 mount number is extremely close to that number. I ordered it from a place called cycle parts for less, $108.60 with free shipping. Here's the funny part. HD sent me an application for a Harley Visa, I was laughing at it and getting ready to throw it out as it said on the front "get free chrome cash". I'm like geez, just what I need, until I noticed the rest, "for your 1125R". Hmmmm. Opened it up, they gave me $10 for opening it, then a $75 credit after the first use. I bought some plugs & stuff for my S1, then when the credit came I used that for the bracket! Ended up costing me 33 bucks and some change!

So, according to an older post, the ".8" translates to "S2" somehow. I used that part # and ordered it. Once my new used bags get here and I fix whatever indignities have been inflicted on them from UPS, I will be able to confirm. It was available for $108 from New Castle HD on line - since the bike used to get serviced there, it seemed like I should order the part there for no particularly good reason.

So I did.

Lynyrd,

Good for you! And I think you got lucky finding a set of bags in any condition, hope you get luckier with UPS than I have. Bought a fender for my S2 and it arrived in two pieces!

I also got lucky finding a set of bags. I was fishing around on the net at lunch about a month ago and a pair of new take-offs popped up on ebay, and it had a very reasonable BIN price. So they are now sitting in my garage waiting to get put on, and these came USPS with no damage, I really sweated it out until they arrived! Good luck with your bike!
