Wow, CP&B sounds like an interesting outfit. Here's a review of a book called "Hoopla" about them I found at Amazon:

"They've been called "visionary" by both Newsweek and Time, hailed as "the ad world's most talked-about agency" by USA Today, and dubbed "the next big thing" by Business 2.0. They launched the Mini car craze in America, took on Big Tobacco in the controversial Truth campaign, sexed up Virgin Airlines, and made Burger King sizzle once again. And they did it with bold publicity stunts, infectious viral marketing strategies, funny masks, folding paper, outrageous Internet hoaxes, and a weird, garter belt-wearing chicken who became a cultural sensation. And this random madness has a very sound method to it: Hoopla. In Hoopla, the secret inner workings of this freewheeling, break-the-mold idea factory are revealed for the first time. Veteran journalist Warren Berger, who has tracked and reported on the CP+B phenomenon over the past decade, fully examines and deconstructs the methods that lie behind the agency's seeming madness, while the striking images throughout the book (captioned by the CP+B creative team) provide insights into the logic, intuition, mischief, and passion that leads to the creation of Hoopla. The result is a fascinating journey into a realm of unbridled creativity. See the madness. Read the method. Hoopla. Hoopla also includes practical, step-by-step advice on how to find and promote big ideas (even on a shoestring budget), and how to generate excitement and hype in today's cluttered, noisy communications landscape. If you're a marketer, a communicator of any type, or anyone who needs to get out a message and generate some buzz, Hoopla will change the way you think about the art of communication."

This should be really interesting...

This sounds good.

Sounds like Buell needs an experienced Director of Marketing and Advertising, who owns Buells, and would enjoy being in the middle of creating a new campaign promoting Buell Motorcycles. Maybe 30 years as Director of one of the World's largest Supermarket Chains....I guess I would need to move to East Troy.....Wonder how much I would have to pay Buell for the position...ahahahaha, REX

Not to be overly critical...but I was somewhat chagrined at the lack of Beull marketing presence at Road Atlanta.

Geico was there giving out pens, badge holders and trinkets and there was a 1125R and 1125CR sitting next to the sign-up table that you could win if you signed up on the Geico mailing list.

I know it was a race and not a show or a demo ride...but it just seemed to all be a bit low key, especially for a bike and rider who was getting a lot of press.

I asked if I could buy a Richie Morris/Geico t-shirt and was told there were none. Based on the fan interest I saw around the transporters, I think they could have moved some t-shirts and other stuff.

Not sure if that kind of marketing starts with Buell or Geico or whomever...but I think they need to make a little bigger splash in the pits.

By the way, I said Hi to Richie Morris on Friday and again on Sunday and he could not have been more congenial. Sure wish I had a t-shirt. : )

Cool. Will it be ready by Infineon? That would be neat to add to the Buell collection.

For the first time ever, I am going to make 2 AMA races and it's all due to RMR and Buell. Thank you!

Drummer,

You have to remember, the racing effort was started with a lot of unkowns; all new class, new bike, new/different riders, new sponsors. I would venture to say that all $$$ thus far have been spent to get (and keep) the racers on the track.

Now with some success and some proven reliablity, it is likely more $$$ will be available for marketing such as T-shirts and other SWAG.

As Richie posted... Patience

I may just have to see how much I can save by switching insurance from Progressive to Geico. Maybe enough for several RMR/Geico/Buell shirts?: )

The folks from CP+B have been in our store shooting some mock-up and idea photos of some of our Buells. I snuck a 1125CR with modified handlebars, drop down pegs and touring seat for us tall guys in some of the shots too.

This started a while back. I have high expectations of this endeavor.
