Well, after waiting impatiently for ~1.5 years, I finally picked up a new 2007 black Ulysses tonight. I had my heart set on an orange one, but the dealer made me a deal I couldn't refuse on an in-stock black one (Yea, yea, I know black is faster- no orange is faster! black! orange! etc., etc.). I'll leave it as-is for a while and see if the black grows on me or if I decide to buy a set of orange plastics. Rode it home tonight in low 50 degree temps; had a nice ride. Had a quick supper and then rode over to show it to a friend. Man, this thing is a big leap in several areas over my S3. Can't wait to get it thoroughly broken in and out on some road trips. Camera phone photo at a nearby Sonic where I met a riding buddy to show it off:

Heated grips are a must. Good on ya man!! good thing the orange body work is cheaper than the camo stuff. It is worth way more in style points imho. |

Congratulations! I see you've made the same decision that I made a couple of weeks ago. Now if only winter would hurry up and end. |

Congrats! Sometimes the longer wait will just mean you will enjoy it now that much more. I kept my M2 and enjoy the differences between the two. I call the Uly "the wife" and the M2 "the girlfriend". I kept the stock exhaust on the Uly while the M2 has the V&H slip on. What are you going to do (did do) with the S3? |

I would like a Number One combo with tater tots and a cherry vanilla coke! Welcome to the club! |

Thanks for the congratulations. It was worth the wait. What are you going to do (did do) with the S3? I've got it listed for sale in the classifieds; I just don't think I'll have time to ride/maintain 3 bikes (I have an older semi-collectible Honda I want to keep). It sure has been fun though. |

Congratulations!!! I'm sure there are many miles of smiles ahead for you. Check in at C3 as we have adventures planned. Hmmm, would you be interested in joining me in a rally in February in Cheraw? They have a moto division and I plan on entering. http://sandblastrally.com/2007/ p.s., You're looking well Hugh. (Message edited by rubberdown on December 07, 2006) |

Thanks Mike. I will check in at C3. I've been hoping to hook up with you guys but circumstances haven't permitted so far. The rally looks pretty cool. Any details on the route? Yea, I'd love to come up there and watch at least. I'll mark it on the calendar. |

Congratulations on the bike. Now I think you should go out and get all the orange bodywork and send me the left over black body parts. If everyone did this then my black one would be even more unique. |

Good for you Hugh! Hope to finally meet you next year. I was hoping to meet up with Neil a few weeks ago, but things didn't work out. I also still have my Ascot, and should have it back on the road by summer. Take care... |

Congrats. Black is not faster, it's just less feminine. |

I need to do some work on my Ascot too (shaft drive has a small leak evidently at the transmission). Hopefully we will be able to meet in 2007. |

You will like it...I just turned over 20,000 miles on my 06...IMHO...get the heated gloves from Gerbing...your whole hand stays warm...plug in the front adapter and adjust the temp. on the controller at your belt...can be seen at www.derbycycle.com...while in the market for warm stuff get the full heated jacket too... |

I will check in at C3. The thread for March Badness IV is already in the Adventure folder. We still have room for one more! We'd love to have you join us. We've rented the same cabin as last year. Congrats on the Uly. Hope you enjoy it as much as Carlos has enjoyed his Uly. Kristi
