His claims were not "baseless" just because the media says so. His language was not "violent" just because the media says so. Once you realize the media is just an arm of the democratic party and have attacked Trump constantly for over 4 years you will see the truth. Go back, listen to his speeches. Don't let the media take things out of context and realize the man has a sense of humor. The media doesn't. He makes a joke and the media attacks him by taking it literally. They are destroying America with their lies. They are not truth driven but agenda driven. As far as Republican support, those folks who rejected him were never Trumper's that never liked him because they are fellow Globalist. Politicians that bend in the wind no matter which way it's blowing.
Trump was smart enough to have others arrested for the death threats as he channeled their anger at the Capitol. In Trump's defense this technique is as old as politics itself. However, he wielded that weapon sloppily and lost control of it, it seems that is what people are punishing him for.
Trump's claims are not baseless because some of the media says so, they are baseless because he cannot back them up with anything other than unrelated generalized anger. If his claims had any merit, he would not as politically isolated as he is now. Those claims have become toxic, and former allies and business people now see them as a threat to their bottom line.
Most media companies are businesses that track dollars first and politics second. They write the most outrageous headlines they can get away with and consumers choose which ones to listen to and the payoff is a pound of dependable advertisement revenue and an ounce of prestige. Certainly media companies can flip politicians if they see a threat to their money stream. When I asked the BadWeb Quick Board in 2016 which news companies BadWebbers trusted, I was given a half vote of confidence for Fox News. That is why all news sources came from Fox since then. As Trump moved away from the political center in late 2020, Fox hedged its bet to avoid possible marginalized in 2021 and began running more balanced news stories. I think that hedge paid off. Fox has updated their format to include more opinion shows to compete with the future rise of Newsmax and such opinion outlets, so we'll see how the market develops for them in the future.
Globalism vs Nationalism is a fair enough characterization of recent politics. Trump did not lose simply because he was a nationalist. His nationalist economic policies came at a great cost with tepid results and those were overshadowed by his pandemic problems. If Joe is smart, Joe will rework some of those nationalist economic policies and hope for success because he knows there is a lot of wind behind those sails.
Uh, most of those mega giants back overt marxists like Black Lives Matter and propagandize right along with them. They also take a blind eye to the left wing radicals.
Anyone who thought Russian collusion was a thing has no credibility or basis upon which to lecture others.
So spare us, please.
Whatever Trump did concerning Covid was wrong, regardless. There is no winning there. Things will be peachy under Biden's lockdown #2, though, I'm sure.
I already stated on Jan 11 in the Lemonchili thread that I don't support BLM and there wasn't enough evidence in the Russia story. You wont find anything I said to the contrary in the archives because I was ambivalent about them and so never argued about them.
It is difficult to find any winning anywhere when a pandemic takes hold, but Trump could've looked at the pandemic manual left for this very purpose by Obama. Any failures could have been blamed on his manual.
Tepid results? Best Black American employment since the Civil war. ( pre-Emancipation doesn't count, obviously, & records don't go back that far, so... ) Energy independence from Islamist Terror States. Etc. I'd say he did great, especially compared to Barry.
Yes, just as Bill rode the wave Ronald kicked off, Donald rode the wave George initiated. ( Barry could have, and did take credit, but "the worst recovery" marked his reign indelibly, because of his policies )
OTOH, Donald's inability to get Congress to pass a legal budget, despite threatening vetoes he didn't follow up on, is a major fail. I'd call that a failure to communicate what the Swamp was up to, so the public would approve even a Federal shutdown. For a full dozen years, spending your money & your Grandchildren's without restraint, hiding the bribe paybacks in emergency continuing resolution smokescreens, has been The New Normal. Absolutely a fail not to stop Barry's Cloward-Piven assault on the economy.
I generally agree with you on the Media, but perhaps more cynical and ( what's the word for not paranoid at all? Because they are targeting us? )
And I didn't watch Donald's speech. So I can't speak to how inflammatory he was. But it wasn't on His orders the New Reichstag Fire groups performed their Revolutionary Theater op.
Or if it was, I'm all in favor of trial and prison time. AND if it was Hydra/DNC orders, as I suspect, they deserve prison, instead.
But my cynicism says that the bad actors are extremely unlikely to get arrested, ever, being rich AF, and owning the Media support.
“Trump could've looked at the pandemic manual left for this very purpose by Obama”
Have you read it? Let us know what useful information it contained. The only thing Obama did for this outbreak was to not reorder the n95 masks his administration used. Hence, the initial shortage.
I find it remarkable that there is such a huge effort underway to find and prosecute the people involved in the DC riot and so little effort expended to the same end in Portland and other cities. All of the people attacking police officers and damaging property need to be held accountable.
When do the impeachment hearings for democrats who called for violence against conservatives begin?
This morning on NBC morning show Savanna Guthrie was reporting the usual negative rhetoric at Trump and was trying to hold back smiling, while obviously absolutely giddy, as she was announcing that the house voted to impeach. The actions of a school child who just won a game over school mates. As if it is her personal game to win. And the new narrative is that if you are a Trump , Republican, conservative you are mentally deficient and have joined a cult.
Smugness abounds. They are not going to be satisfied unless they have the genocide win over the right. The olive branch carries complete annihilation for all but them.
The Omnibus Bill is going to pass. The numbers are wrong, though. 382? Nah, a %. And Way more of your money to the Mullahs.
A few of the others will be combined. Speech/religion/herstory/sex will probably be in 2 bills, and sound reasonable while actually being far worse than the Bee's version.
#1 pleases me. The more repetitious useless time they waste, the less time they're working to make life worse for us. ( I wish ) And it'll be a weekly holiday. They'll make it the mandatory final business each week, part of the closing ritual. "I move to repass Order 37, & call recess".
#2 This one is Awesome. Consider the law of unintended consequences! Everyone will take home ec. They can roll in "how to" write checks, address letters, setup a router, clean, cook, all the classic Home Economics & some basic tool use. Graduation is Cake Day. And the best part! Everybody gets cake!
To misquote Syndrome, When Everybody's Gay, No one is. What adults you fancy, your business. Erases Gender Insanity.
By August the Tech Lords had kicked censorship into high gear. The fix was in. No dissenting voices allowed, no crimes admitted to. Polls based on cherry picked samples are fraud. Censor the news and you've cherry picked all samples.
I'm not going to jump on the "Trump screwed up" bandwagon today.
I do have a question I think is both legitimate, and frightening.
If you've been robbed by fraud in a Presidential election, is it even Possible to contest the election?
Perhaps if the lawyers had been smarter? Been able to pick judges not actually hostile & corrupt?
No matter the truth of the 2020 coup, the question remains.
Because if you can't prevent a stolen election from giving power to the Bad guys, then it's all theater.
I'll even grant there might be one or more of Trump's opposition that are well meaning and not evil. Couldn't say who, but they may exist. But even one with the best intentions steps over a seriously Neichzte like line into the Abyss when you steal power by fraud.
Sure there are ways to contest the election. Trump ran through them all, filed some 50 lawsuits. He didn't lose all of them, and only the lawsuits that had no merit were rejected. The courts gave him plenty of chances, Trump just generally had no compelling evidence. The story could have been very different if good evidence was found.
His legal team was turned down on "procedural" grounds.
Which, again, begs the question "can you contest an election?". If the system refuses to hear any grievances, and refuses to hear any cases, then the answer would be...no, you cannot.
Only about half of Trump's cases were dismissed, including the Kraken lawsuit. The Ken Paxton case was predicted to be dismissed by the Supreme Court "in one sentence," which was close, and even the TX solicitor general Kyle Hawkins who typically argues in front of the Supreme Court representing TX would not be part of the case. Ken Paxton had to hire a private company to argue his own case for him. Hawkins is now planning on resigning Feb 1.
Trump lawyers dropped about a quarter of their own lawsuits.
I think it's hard to say that the system refused to hear any of his grievances because it seemed he didn't really have any that the courts could 'fix' for him.
