Anyone here have experience installing a GI pro X gear indicator? The instruction say to plug it in to the speed sensor coupler. I haven't been able to find it. I already checked the service book and wiring diagram. Thanks |

I installed a similar thing years ago. It looks like GI has a variant that is a universal fit and gives you a sensor to mount to the rear brake rotor, that is basically what I did with mine. |

Well, I already bought this one because it was supposed to be plug and play. I installed it in the instrument panel when I was in there upgrading my dash lights. So the plugs cut off and I'm not taking it back out. I can splice the plug back on if I found a place to plug it in or I'll just wire it directly if I find out where. I contacted HealTech and they asked me to send a photo of the wiring diagram but my phone camera isn't working and I don't think they would be able to see much from a picture of the wiring diagram because its too large and if I take grid shots it would be ridiculous to try and read. So, there's four wires where the plug was.My guess is that one is power, one is ground, and I'm hoping that of the other two, one can go to the speed signal and the other to the tach signal. Just want to check here in case someone has already done it. Wont be able to get back to it until Sunday anyway. Thanks. |

Awesome, thanks. I'm more comfortable soldering splices than on the mother board so I'll do it from the other side but this is the information I needed. Thanks again. |

I put mine in the same spot but drilled out the hole behind it to run the wires. Got the idea someplace on this forum. I already did this mod a while ago but I used a cheap Chinese knock off. It looked good but I never was able to get it programed. Programing involved running it each gear at 2 or 3000 rpm until it learns the gear. I tried doing it on the T-Rex stands but chickened out by third gear and there's no roads anywhere near here (NYC)where I could do it but it might be a cheaper alternative if you live somewhere more rural. There real cheap on eBay. Also when I did the mod I added an LED voltage light in the empty space at the bottom of the idiot lights. Super easy mod if your in there anyway. |

While you're in there you could wire your "flash to pass" button to the trip meter so you can switch through the menu with ease instead of trying to hit that little button with gloves on! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/503727.html This was done right after a Buelltoberfest and is two pages long so just ignore all the inside jokes! |

Garrcano: Is that rly so simply? And it works? I tried to look and to mee it seems like there would be 6 wires in Gi pro x-type? Maybe im wrong. What have you used as insulation on solderings. Do you have more pics? |
